Bio: A child progeny in mental health, Domenic Oranzi became an intern at Ravencroft Institution under the wing of head psychiatrist Anne Weying (who's also the wife of symbiotic Secret Avenger Eddie Brock Anti-Venom and mother of Carl Brock aka Cure). There he developed a unique friendship of star patient Donna Diego, who has recently been cured of her unstable symbiote Scream.
It was Dom's friendship and kindness that helped Donna recover from her mental scars and successfully made a clean bill of health. The two then become close friends and since Donna bonding to the symbiote kept her at a young age of late teens, the two began to date.
Unfortunately dark aspects of Donna's past came from the woodworking in the form of the Scream symbiote's creator The Jackal's undead clone Carrion kidnapped Domenic and Donna. It turns out Carrion wanted to continue Jackal's work and wanted to experiment on Donna. Dom then sacrificed himself by taking Donna's place as he was bitten by a symbiotic spider created by Carrion.
The spider's venom mutated Dom's blood and created a new symbiote with stronger spider-like traits. However Carrion's plans backfired as Domenic fought off Carrion, though the zombie escaped.
Domenic then used his powers to help his girlfriend escape their confines and back to civilization. Dom became very interested with his powers and decided to hunt down Carrion in order to prevent the undead clone from harming others.
He then decided to name himself Crimson Spider after being inspired by the deceased hero Scarlet Spider (a clone of Avenger Spider-Man) who sacrificed himself to stop the mutant terrorist Spider Queen who Domenic saw as an idol along with the new teen heroes Spider-Girl, Cure, and She-Venom.
During his hunt for Carrion, Crimson Spider came across the teen heroes himself who were very interested in a new Spider/Symbiote hero and decided to see if he can be trusted. They decided to test that by aiding Dom's hunt of Carrion as they were also after the monster scientist.
Finally they found Carrion who was ready to unleash a virus that'll turn those infected into insane zombies. Crimson Spider and The Guardians of the Web battled Carrion and successful destroyed Carrion's body, but his mind survived in the form of a sentient toxic gas and escape into the sewers.
The Guardians saw how brave Crimson Spider was and knew he'd won their trust. It was then the psychic Madame Web appeared and said Domenic was know as the "wild card". A Spider without a set fate and can shift the Web of Life's flow without predictions as Scarlet Spider was before him. With that said, Crimson Spider became a reserved Guardian of the Web and joined Avengers Academy under the mentorship of Patrick Mulligan aka Toxin to progress his powers as he fully embraced the title of Crimson Spider to protect those he love, including Donna Diego.
