This guy happen to eat ceratopsians & duckbills, by any chance? Maybe some mammals as well, but surely there's gotta gotta be something in the DZverse that can give the black beast a challenge, like somethin' with horns and/or armor. I'm just sayin'.

This guy happens to eat anything. From wolves and raptors to elephants and other mammals (see, the DZVerse has a share of both mesozoic and cenozoic creatures).
But, among the larger species; i can only think on animals like Tyrannoraptor and the Grizzlerine as competitors; and larger species like mammoth-like elephants, ceratopsians and pseudosauropods fighting against it. Also, the Rodelero...a big ankylosaur.

That clears things up a little bit.
The Rodelero- by big, you mean rhino-sized, right? That's smaller than Ankylosaurus (all due respect), but bigger than a human.
Just pointin' out a minor detail, that's all.
Now, what exactly is a Tyrannoraptor? Any would ya mind addin' a decendant of Triceratops? Y'know, somethin' with horns that stands a chance against your black beast? I'm just sayin'.

Yes.
The Tyrannoraptor is an Allosaurus-sized descendant of the Utahraptor; and yes, there's a triceratops descendant in my sketchbook.
Just need to name it. XD
Yeah, but what Rodeleros lack in Size, they have it for ferocity. Think of a raging bull, only armed with a thick body armor and a bone-shattering tail attack. They can hold their own against a full-grown Black Beast.

So that's what a Tyrannoraptor is.
As for your Triceratops decendant, why not call it somethin' like "Triceratherium" or somethin' like that?

Dunno, trying to use more 'common names', since the intelligent species on the Dracoverse (where my stories happen) don't bother too much into scientifical names and only use the animals for consumption and war.

Well, surely not "common threehorn" or "trihorn threehorn"- those common names I use for Triceratops horridus.

Nah, knowing my militaristic empire, it will end up being something as the Juggernaut or the Horned Behemoth.

Hmm...these guys are for a D&D kind of campaign...so i'm going for shocking names and intimidating factor.
Probably it'll be called the Trident Juggernaut.
