1st u draw the head simplisticly, then a skull, then a head again. And i mean the head is pretty much done on the 1st step - the skull doesnt help later

Actually I drew the final creature first.
Then I drew skeleton, muscles and the rigged version just for anatomy studies, I did not use them to build the creature.
It is important to study these kind of structures to see if the creature is believable, if it could actually live in the real world.
Also, it will be necessary for modellers, riggers and animators to create its 3D version.

Yeah, I got to meet her just a few weeks ago! Got to chat with her personally during her book signing and she gave me some good critique and advice on my portfolio. Went to her workshop the next day! She is so cheery and passionate about her work c:
I went on and checked out the course after and saw that! Wasn't aware of the facebook group, but that is definitely a plus to be able to share, get feedback from, and interact with the other students. It's real tempting and I might go sign up once the holidays are over.
