in 2019's Mario valentines advice, mario and gang is trying to help shroomy talk to a girl he likes. And in the end, Meggy, Mario, and Luigi successfully encourage shroomy to talk to the girl he likes. Meggy was shocked seeing this in front of her own eyes and then Mario said "love is dumb." Contrary to what anyone may believe, this doesn't confirm Meggy is asexual, as she has never outright stated at any point that she wasn't interested in pursuing romance. While it's very unlikely that Mario x Meggy will ever happen, that doesn't outright confirm that she's asexual, and SMG4 himself has never commented on it either. Also, people claim SMG4 said on his Discord server that Mario x Meggy will never happen, and yet nobody has provided any actual proof, such as a screenshot or video showing this message ever having been written and posted, and to my knowledge, neither Luke or Kevin have openly commented on the matter, as they likely don't want to start flame wars. Heck, Luke himself isn't even all that active in his Discord server, having rarely posted anything at all, if ever, and Kevin hasn't posted there even once to my knowledge. If they are against it, they likely aren't trying to stop people from doing it either.
If you're not fine with shipping them, there's nothing wrong with that. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Just as long as you aren't trying to attack anyone who does, there's no problem with it.

I would take what the wiki says with a grain of salt. Meggy's page is known to cause flame wars between fans, and anyone can edit in information, so it's not really a reliable source. But in the longrun, a lot of Meggy's personal information still remains unknown, so nobody except Luke or Kevin knows for certain.
