Description
My Vincent Valentine cosplay, picture taken during the masquerade of Otakuthon 2009 in Montreal.Awards won:
- Best Workmanship in class
- Best character personification

EDIT: Because many people asked me what the hell happened to this cosplay, here's the explanation:
-As it was my second cosplay ever made, some parts either broke down or simply aren't that good, so many things need to be entirely redone with better materials, such as the gauntlet.
-I lost a lot of weight, and the black suit does not fit me at all anymore. This also has to be entirely remade.
-I do plan on eventually repair and upgrade this cosplay and wear it again though, but I have no idea when that'll be done. For now, I've got other projects.

Back then I used plaster to make mine, using my own arm as the mold XD
But after 2 whole cons, it died an atrocious death.
So now I'd say, plastic sheets, something to heat them, and a lot of patience. Chances are it'll live longer XD

I was thinking paper, cardboard, and lots of tape and paint. It'd breath easier and be lighter and easier to repair.

But cardboard and paper are the very first materials that will break... especially while worn as a glove o.o
Also it usually isn't a good choice when you want to achieve a metallic look.

But the materials you mentioned aren't cheap, or easy to find, or good to try and handle when you're a beginner...

Plastic sheet are cheap... easy to find... a bit tricky to handle though, but if you go slowly and have much patience, it's not that hard. While plaster is easy to handle, easy to find, but not that cheap... and kinda not a good choice to be worn as an articulated glove. XD

Il est très réussi ton costume de Vincent , très bon choix du tissu de la tenue. Ca change du simili cuir qui fait plastique ^^

xD ouache du simili-cuir pour Vincent... je l'imagine déja mal en cuir, il me semble que ca fitte juste pas avec le character... XD Mauvaise texture aussi XD

Non pas du tout en fait.
J'aime bien le simili cuir mais pas le mettre à tout les cosplays qu'on fait (à moins de n'avoir pas le choix). Je vois que dans les cosplay FF7 , il y en a trop.
J'adore ton Vincent , le mieux que j'ai pu voir cette année ^^ (et dire que j'en ai vu pas mal) et la photo n'est pas photoshopée avec abus.

Je crois qu'elle n'est même pas photoshopée cette photo en plus. J'ignore si le photographe l'a photoshopée avant de me l'envoyer, mais il n'en a pas l'habitude, et moi, je n'y ai pas touché.

Non elle ne l'est pas toshopée , à part surement la régularisation de la lumière et correction des couleurs que tout le monde fait

quoique le materiel de mes cosplays me coute a peu pres ca a chaque fois... mais link... je crois qui pete la barre des 500$ facilement... Anyway jve le finir cette semaine pour pouvoir le porter au prochain photoshoot que j'organise avec la gang du magasin Wasabi... pis se promener random en Link, c'est juste priceless 8D

avec le temps ca doit secher, craqueler, peler, et chatouiller, non? =_= ...pi graisser toute partout...

En faite pas vraiment, car il déteignait sur mon cosplay... Je dois le laver d'ailleur. Prochaine fois je l'achète en spray ^^ ou à l'huile. C'est plus difficile à faire partir, mais au moins je sais que ça va durer!!
