I made this as a Christmas gift for a friend, trying to make something that reflected her personality while respecting her personnal tastes (...following some very subtle*AHEM* questions asked throughout the week XD)

When asked if she preferred symmetry or asymmetry, she answered both, depending on the context....
So I gave her both: symmetry in the shape, and asymetry in the colours.

When asked which were her favourite colors, she answered red, black and metallic blue, and her favourite color combination being black, purple, and golden.
So here's what I did:

I made a strong 2-colors contrast (red on black) separated by golden 3D paint. While I chose to let the red sections plain and strong with a matte finish, I added a whole rainbow of metallic shades to the black ones trapped in a very glossy varnish.
All colors, except for the black base coat which was applied with the use of an airbrush, were painted by hand with a paintbrush (my old and torn one... which turns out better than anything to create even color shading). The golden paint was applied very moderately on extremities, while a color changing paint was used more extensively for the rest.
This said metallic color changing paint, depending on the thickness applied, the lighting, and the angle viewed, ranges from a light lilac-pink to a dark metallic blue while going through a whole range of purples and violets. At the thickest parts, I added a few sparkles one by one with the tip of a needle, then scealed them on with another layer of glossy varnish. You can see some of them above the right eye, though there is more under both eyes as well.

I finished it up with black ink and a light metallic fushia on the red areas to increase depth, a blue crystal, and golden detailing enhanced with ink borders to make it stand out.

Ah yes, forgot to mention, the mask is hand-shaped out of hardened (waxed) chrome-tanned leather, and like all my other works, it is a one-of-a-kind.
