Basic facts about Phyrekins:
All Phyrekins have glowing eyes, horns, a mask and flames sprouting from their back.
Although able to make basic sounds (growls, yelps, gekkering, etc) they cannot cannot articulate their jaws enough to physically speak, so instead speak telepathically.
Phyrekins are covered in a layer of short and extremely soft fur.
Phyrekins are omnivorous creatures, but tend to obsess over one food in particular (eg. bamboo, fish, birds, orchids, dragonflies, etc).
They are usually bipedal creatures, but quadrupedal Phyrekins do exist (albeit very rare).
The size and brightness of a Phyrekin's flame shows how healthy they are, and if their flame is extinguished they will become very sick until they can light it again.
Luckily, they can choose what their fire does and does not burn. However children still growing often cannot control their flames and burn things around them by accident.
When born, a Phyrekin does not have it's flame. When they mature into young adults (about 1 year in age), their backs will start to spark, and their mother ignites them by bathing them in her flames. Afterwards they often leave their mother, however many females won't, opting to live with fellow females in small clusters.
At the age of 2, a Phyrekin becomes old enough to reproduce.
Males will compete for a female's attention by showing off their flames, however if worked up enough they will become aggressive and fight each other.

Females:
Have stripes which are darker than their torso
Are shorter, faster and have more stripes than males
Have 3 digits on their hands, but between 2-4 digits on their feet (matching of course)
The front of their mask is the same colour as their stripes

Males:
Have stripes which are lighter than their torso
Are taller and stronger than females
Have 3 or more eyes
Have 3 very large digits on their hands, but hooves on their feet
The front of their mask is the same colour as their torso
Male Phyrekin can also grow a thick mane
