Description My new toy.

You know that mob of thirty Orks you had a minute ago?

Y'know, the one that's just a smoking crater now.

Enjoy your smoking crater.

Been considering getting myself one of these. Would definitely fit the theme of my army. But are they really that good?

Hmm... well... birthday is coming up as is Admin Assistant day when I always get a small bonus (not really an Admin Assistant, but for some reason I get lumped in with them... never turn down the bonus though )... so I might have to get one soonish.

I thought about kitbashing up a custom one. And I could probably pull it off decently. But the actual model looks so nice I'd want to get one eventually anyways.

Next step for me is a Dreadnought, I don't know which kind though, Ironclad with Armour 13, or Venerable with BS and WS 5.

Something to think about.

I'd say it really depends on just want you want the Dread to do. If you want a melee monster, go Ironclad. With its special abilities and added AV it can get into CC that much easier. If you want a 'Hellfire' Dread, go Venerable. With its Venerable rule and superior BS you'll be blowing them up that much longer.

Hmm, I think I'm going more for the Long-range-fightin'.

What with the fists being a seige army and all that.

I might go Venerable.

but the next decision is do I get the Generic Forgeworld Venerable Dread, or wait to see if they bring out a fists's one.

And then there's the dilemma of what I'll arm it with.
I was thinking of a Twin Autocannon, but now I'm not so sure.

GAAAAAAAAAAAH! So many decisions.

Give'em time and I'm sure you'll see a Fists Venerable. Problem is how long before it happens.

I'm a big fan of the autocannon. While it can't break a Land Raider, it can handle just about anything else and is still decent for troop killing.

I'm doing an Ironclad conversion.

Of course I started just before I found out they're planning an official model. ¬_¬

It still should look pretty good though, but probably not as good as the professional one.

I really don't like what I've seen of the 'official' Ironclad yet. So I'm making my own as well (going to be posting an updated WiP picture shortly of it as well).

And honestly even if a custom made model isn't as 'rofessional' looking as a standard kit, it almost ALWAYS looks better because its unique.

Yeah, I'v seen your conversion.

I'v only ever posted 1 WiP pic, I prefer to present finished models as opposed to jumping on the gaming industry band wagon and hyping all my models for a year before they're even finished.

Your conversion definately looks original, it's a little more creative than mine, but I like the job I'v done on the Hammer.

I am, however, surprised you didn't equip it with a seizmic hammer (dunno how to spell that.) I think that with your modelling skills, you could easily have made a good job of it.

I seriously thought about making the Hammer for my Ironclad. But I've had in my mind for awhile now to make a Lobstority (spelling probably butchered... its a critter from the Stephen King series 'The Dark Tower' style Dreadnought. Originally it was going to be a Chaos Dread, but when I scrapped my Chaos army I still wanted to use the idea.

I intend to make more Dreads in the future I'm sure, so I'm sure I'll end up with a hammer or two
