4th and final steampunk gun! horraaaay
This one light up and spins!
Painted in the same way as the others, well, this time i did black then a dark bronze then some copper highlights.
Used outline stickers from hobby craft for the gold pretty bits
enjoy! suggestions welcome

My favorite part is the "MADE IN CHINA", engraved on the side. Even in alternate timelines where steam rules, all our crap is made in China.

Also, have you tried starting with a darker color on the "bronze/copper" looking pieces, and then working your way up to lighter colors? That way you can take a really fine sand paper, and scuff it up a bit in places to give it that natural worn/tarnished look. It all really depends on what type of paint you use, and how well it sticks to that plastic. Otherwise it might come out muddy looking.
I myself am more into Dieselpunk. Rolled steel, smooth lines, and welded joints are my thang. My style is more art deco mixed with ultra futuristic right angled stuff. Sort of DCAU's 90's Batman, mixed with all that "city of tomorrow" influences.
Why am I still talking, you probably didn't care to know all that. I'll stop now.

cor, that's a fantastic idea! i used a combination of graffiti paint and toyota copper car paint, so it should work quite well. But if not, i have two of each gun so its fine!
i'll work on these guns a bit more now, see if i can improve them. I had previously been distracted by my final steampunk gun made from scratch (essentially, the base was a rubberband rifle gun)

i had heard of dieselpunk and i've been really interested in it but steampunk gave me more inspiration for the gun making bits. I would absolutely love to make a dieselpunk machine or car of sorts, but the parts are somewhat more difficult to come by, or, i haven't been looking hard enough

Don't knock cheating. It is a universal constant vilified by mankind. Is it cheating when one animal steals another animals food? Or is it a chance to outlive your competition by expending less energy to achieve the same goal? ^_^
Was it cheating when humans evolved a big brain capable of nonlinear thought process, and could then produce spears, and arrows with which to hunt and defend themselves from the wild; when before all we had was "run away and get mauled in the back by the giant cave lion", and "stand and fights and get mauled in the front"? When was the last time you saw a human? When was the last time you saw a cave lion?
Now ask yourself, who won that fight?
Cheating is a noble pursuit, and I wish you all the luck in the world at succeeding at it, oh Son of Innovations!

admittedly though, if i had seen a human and a cave lion, the first thing i would have most likely thought is either "i'm going to soil myself" or "crap crap crap crap crap shit crap crap crap". Something involving feces anyway ^_^'
