Her kimonos are still nice but not as nice as the ones she uses while working, she will still wear her shawl-like cloth which she places underneath the obi. The sleeves of the kimono are long, indicating that she is not yet married and she has nice patterns on them. She will wear a shorter sleeved kimono sometimes as well. When in her geisha attire, her shawl-like cloth is a vibrant red, she wears lipstick and eyeshadow to help cover some of her identity. Her kimonos are very elegant, and the obis are just as colorful and vibrant. Her hair is up in its updo with some of her hair on the side of her face with some ornaments decorating her hair.

Personality:Sakiko likes to keep a calm composure and isn’t really afraid to show that she is girly. Being this way, she can be seen more as submissive but isn’t as submissive as her mother, who was forced by her own family to marry Takahashi (not that she doesn’t love him now but she didn’t at the time). She is a sweet person who goes about her days doing what she’s supposed to do and nothing that she’s not supposed to be doing but that doesn’t mean if it is a noble cause but against the law, she won’t help or do what she can. She loves to smile and believes that a smile will welcome in great fortune and good people. Despite her nature, she is very intelligent when it comes to the matter of business and trade thanks to her family and almost puts on a different person when talking business with someone. This often times catches people off guard but it only gives her one more edge.

Biography:Sakiko is the only child of Takahashi and Aimatsu Akiyama, she would have had an older brother but he did not survive the birthing. Devastated, her parents tried again after a while and Sakiko was the child, Takahashi wanted a son so that way he could teach him the ways of their past and his family’s fighting style but he did not want to bring dishonor to his name. He was not extremely pleased with it at first, but he loved his daughter nonetheless and he quickly got over his displeasure of not being able to continue on some of their traditions. It wasn't her mother that insisted their daughter should go to geisha school, it was Sakiko and her love of the arts that won her parent's hearts. They lived outside of Osaka for part of Sakiko’s life, she had a supportive family.
She has always known of her family's history of being oni. They are a small noble family amongst the main, big clans in the demon realm. Tiny, but mighty and powerful; The Akiyama family have earned their place as now wealthy merchants amongst the nobles. Control the trade, you control all.

As Sakiko began to age, her father came to the realization that this cruel world would try to do what they wanted to his daughter. He couldn't let that happen, not to his little girl. Even though she was a girl, he vowed to himself he would at least show her weaponless self-defense or self-defense with a bo-staff[or any blunt object] at the very max. Since she was still fairly young [~5 years old], he could engrain some of those reflexes and techniques so she would not be completely defenseless and these techniques could help her escape if need be. Even though she is completely capable of disarming a skilled warrior one at a time, most times she does not because she has to keep the front up that she is indeed human.

She soon reached the age of about 7 or 8 and she enrolled in the geisha school in Edo. Being escorted by her dad down the long path, they made it and since a friend of Sakiko's mom owed a favor she allowed the little girl to stay in their house as needed with little money asked in return for every month she was there. Sakiko was scared, being a young girl in a town she didn't know too much about the place let alone the people. He assured her that if she needed and wanted, that she could write to her parents and visit them when she could, since even though he wasn't going to admit it he was scared as well. His little girl, his only child was starting to grow up. He left Sakiko to head back home the next to day to help get her adjusted and so he had a little bit more time with his daughter. A few days down the road, the geisha school started and thus would begin Sakiko's training. Through the school and her determination to learn, she slowly built up the skills she would need to become a successful geisha. It wasn't easy in the slightest, most everything she learned how to do demanded her extra attention so she could do it as perfect and gracefully as she could without appearing inhuman.

It seemed not too much time passed by and soon, Sakiko was about 12/13 years old. She had grown up so much so fast. What she didn't know is that her paths would soon cross with someone else out of the blue.
Even though she is a pre-teen, Sakiko would write her family as often as she could to keep them up to date on how she was doing. She even travelled back to Osaka when could so she could family that she did not get to see so frequently anymore. One fateful day, a new man walked through the gates of Osaka on one of the few times Sakiko was visiting her family. She noticed this man looking around aimlessly so that's what gave him away. Being the polite person she was, she approached him and asked him what he was looking for. He answered her with a smile on his lips and said he was looking for some dojos to train in. Sakiko showed him around the town so that way he knew some of his surroundings while he was in town. He thanked her and introduced himself to the lovely little lady saying his name was Sanosuke, she then of course introduced herself and offered to get something for him to eat. How could you say no to a kind offer from a sweet lady? He gladly said yes and let Sakiko guide him further into Osaka to treat the weary traveller to a meal.

The reason Sakiko was in town to see her family was because she hadn't seen them in what felt like ages and because she was offered to be the maiko to a very beautiful geisha in Kyoto, the capital of Japan. She had taken the offer but wanted to tell her family at the same time. Soon a couple of days passed and as she was out in the markets, noticed that Sanosuke had not yet been accepted into any dojo which was odd to her. She approached him and asked him if he would accompany her to Kyoto since the roads were not the safest for a woman to travel by herself on. She even included that she would pay him handsomely when the little job was done. Sanosuke in need of money agreed to accompany Sakiko back and she also invited him to stay with her at her parent's nice house so he would get nice food, drink and a proper night's rest for the journey the next day. It had been a while since Sanosuke had decent food and a good night's rest, so how could he refuse the hospitality of a lovely little lady?

The next day came around and the both of them set out for their journey in the early hours of the morning. He even took some of her stuff on his back to help alleviate her workload. All along the way, with nothing and no one between them they started to get to know each other. I mean, what more were you going to do other than have an awkward silence which was always unpleasant.
Sakiko found out that Sanosuke came from a low-ranking quasi-samurai family and he wanted to make a name for himself as a noble samurai. She had snuck in a few peeks of him practicing with his bo-staff before while they were in Osaka and he was good at it. She had never heard of someone using a staff as a weapon before so to her it was interesting. Along the way she also found out about his caring and gentleman side, which she was not expecting from him but found it rather cute.
Sanosuke on the other hand could tell that she was a cute little lady from the first moment they met but when he found out she was a maiko in training it just added on to her attractiveness along with the fact she was so small. He and to admit, he didn't know much about this little woman but what he saw; her kindness towards her family and even a few random strangers, she had to be a very sweet person inside and out.

Time seemed to pass all too quickly for the duo. Sanosuke didn't want to admit this out loud but he was honestly taking the scenic route with her, he didn't want to immediately get to Kyoto with her not only because he enjoyed her company, but because when the job was done he didn't know what he was going to do. He wanted to be in her company as long as he possibly could. Along the way they get are approached by a group of ronin and they want to take their belongings, including Sakiko. Sanosuke then challenges the leader of the group, if he wins they leave them alone and if he loses he has to commit seppuku. The deal is agreed upon and the fight begins but ultimately in the end of the heated battle, Sanosuke loses and has to keep his end of the deal. The ronin take an upset Sakiko over one of their shoulders and her belongings back to their camp before Sanosuke can commit seppuku since no woman should have to see that. He digs the blade into his stomach and starts to bleed out, but instead of dying he's barely alive. Sanosuke failed even at honorable suicide, but didn't take it as a bad sign. Instead, he chose to bear his mark and bandaged it up with some bandages he had on his person. His next step was to find Sakiko but who knows where the group of ronin could have gone to. He starts searching for the camp and after a day or two stumbles upon a camp that had some of Sakiko's belongings but no one was there not even the young maiko-to-be. Unknown to Sanosuke, she was able to make an escape to Kyoto but not seeing anyone there he had to accept the fact that she was dead or she escaped. Although for a little lady of Sakiko's stature, it was more likely that she was dead. Sakiko fled to Kyoto under the impression that Sanosuke was dead since he was a man of his word and held up his end of the bargain [from what she saw at least]. They both have to accept that they will more than likely never see each other ever again

Years pass and slowly they start to leave their minds. First to blow with the sakura petals in the wind was their names and then followed some of their looks and mannerisms. For Sakiko, she would never forget his optimism and spirit, his auburn hair and golden eyes. For Sanosuke he would never forget her kindness, her bright, vibrant colors and her beautiful sky blue eyes.
But what they didn't know is that they would meet again in Kyoto where Sakiko was. The Shinsengumi was being moved there to make a name for themselves and since they [probably] had no more room in their current location. They meet up again on a night when the Shinsengumi head to Shimabara, where Sakiko works but of course can not make it known to the others. They talk briefly after she dances for them and continues to pour them sake.

Trivia: Sakiko would do anything for Sanosuke even take a bullet for him. In a heated argument between Sanosuke and Shiranui, Sakiko is pushed to the side out of the way so she's not in the middle. Shiranui pulls out his pistol on the other male and Sanosuke readies his bo-staff. Sakiko knows a gun is far more superior than a bo-staff, even at Sanosuke's master level with the blunt weapon. Shiranui pulls the trigger and instead of shooting Sanosuke, shoots Sakiko in her back since she jumped in front of Sanosuke just in time. Shiranui [I think] uses silver bullets just about all the time, so it is not yet revealed that Sakiko is an oni. She reveals that to Sanosuke after her surgery to remove the bullet and is in recovery at her home for a while when he comes to check in on her from time to time.
When Sakiko tells him that she is an oni, Sanosuke does not take the news too well in the beginning. For a while he thought everything she said was lies, including when she tells him she loves him. Its a little while later that Sanosuke accepts what she is and apologizes for being so rash and quick to anger. It takes a little bit for Sakiko to accept his apology as she was upset he got mad at her for being born into an oni family and being unable to control that essentially.
Before the Shinsengumi goes to war, Sakiko and Sanosuke sign papers saying that they are married so should anything happen to Sanosuke, Sakiko knows at least instead of living her life in doubt.
The time when Sanosuke is off fighting the war against the new modern age with the Shinsengumi was the worst for Sakiko because the thought of him being dead or dying in battle was constantly on her mind. It was almost reliving what happened to her when she was a pre-teen and they were separated once before, she didn't want it to happen again.
When he returns from the war, Sakiko runs into his arms and wraps her arms around him tightly, shivering and crying only to have him pick her up. She's relieved and happy to see him but she's also tired because some nights were sleepless for her.
They go to Osaka with Shinpachi, a few remaining members of the former Shinsengumi and a few others to meet Sakiko and Sanosuke's families there so they can have a proper wedding.
Sanosuke and Sakiko decide to settle down by the coast by one of the major trading ports so Sakiko can be a source of income for the household. They have a small family, two boys and a girl with a few years in between each kid.
There's always a certain thought on the back of Sakiko's mind after they get married: What's going to happen whenever the time comes much later in life. Does she turn Sanosuke into an oni like she is, or does she end her life on his deathbed?
