I finally colored it!Original desc:
Did this for my illustration class, and I think my hand needs a week to recover. I'm not entirely thrilled with the result but my teacher likes it, so who am I to complain? There's so much personal symbolism in this that I'm not even going to bother trying to explain it all. If you get some of it, congratulations, if you don't, I apologize, if you're curious about specific things, feel free to ask questions.
In brief summary, each of those kalnarin characters represents someone who has played a significant role in my life over the past few years. There are probably tons of people missing obviously, I could only fit so many in. It's mostly people I know in person, but you may or may not notice I also stuck one or two people I know online, two fictional characters from something that's very important to me, and my two favorites of my own characters.

Well, I spent some time tonight browsing your artwork and I must say that your stuff is really cute. I love cartoony anthro art! This one and the one with the sparkly sword are probably my two favorites. It must have been nerve-racking trying to get all of those people in one drawing. I like all of the different expressions--it really gives the impression of a crowd! And you say that you're a Sci-Fi fan--ever watch Firefly? If you haven't, and you love SciFi I totally suggest it. Serenity--the movie based on the Firefly TV series is coming out in September!! So you need to see Firefly right away! ^.^

I've actually not seen any Firefly eps yet, but I'm told there's a marathon on Sci Fi channel on July 15, before the new season of Stargate premieres. A few friends and I were planning on getting together and watching it all.

The drawing time put into this makes me envy your patience...When I draw, I only take anywhere from 1 to 4 hours! (depending on what it is)
I like the expressions are VERY diverse and I really like the way you portrayed personalities. My first thought before reading the description was of a party. It looked like your character was feeling like a square peg in a round hole..I also thought that the dark-haired coyote(just a guess) behind you was the only person who noticed, and that there may be a story behind that.

Completely awesome! I think that if you spent more time on it, it could have been better though... Nicer shading... etc. But I understand how much time it takes to do all of these characters... Oh and out of curiousity, how many layers? ^^

Well, yes, I think this could be applied to almost any piece of art...but personally, I felt around 36 hours was enough. Even if it was simply for the sake of my sanity. :/
