This is probably blasphemy.For this assignment, we had to pick a painting that we liked and use the composition to create an entirely new painting. I chose this piece by Peter Paul Rubens: [link]

A blasphemy who's smile is imagination itself and characters such as He. This image looks very much like it was painted many centuries ago and blends together classic and modern themes. Do you plan to make this a print? I would love to purchase a copy!

Ok, I put up the prints that I could with the scan I currently have. If you were hoping for something else/something bigger, let me know and I'll get another scan next time I'm at my parents' house (they have the original).

I really don't see anything blasphemous about this pic. I love the composition and how you used the shapes in Rubens picture to create your own. Very original. I mean, unless you making a message I'm not seeing, I don't see anything wrong with this pic.

I'm sure religious artwork falls under graven images anyway. Sure it can me reationalise away just like anything else, but this makes me chuckle.
