Description
A more historically oriented picture for once; A Teutonic Knight shortly after torching a farmhouse, having first killed those who resided within.After the Crusaders lost Outremer and the Holy Land, the Teutonic Order moved northward, eventually building the brick castle of Marienburg in modern Poland.
They had a leading role in the High Middle Ages in the Christening of the last Pagan Kingdom of Europe; Lithuania!
The heavy inspiration for this picture was the music of Medieval II Kingdoms' Teutonic Campaign, with its heavy drums, Gregorian chants and other medieval goodness!

Oh boy, I remeber playing Age of Empires 2 and my cities always ended in ruins after a visit from these pesky knights. Tough guys, indeed.

Whenever I play a custom or LAN multiplayer game in AoE2 I always play as the Teutons
Partly due to these guys, and partly because I'm a defensive player. I've been told I spend entire year salaries in defenses. xD

As Haikera said in the first comment, "This has Bad-ass written all over it." This is an amazing piece. The Teutonic Knights were pretty beast to being with - with the ornamental helms and all - but this just makes them more boss than they were before. Great piece and I love the added drama with the burning farm house and the knight walking coldly away.
And I'll admit, the Teutonic expansion for Medieval 2 has some sweat music. I should go and play that...

This is fantastically done- the detailing in the chain mail is beautiful- how did you go about it? And how did you have the patience to do it?

A little bit of cheating with the chainmail xD;
A texture underneath, which in and by itself looks plain and boring due to the lack of depth, so I drew a load of lines and rings in between that follow the contours of the body and movement, so it gives the much needed depth x3
