I really appreciate your comment and your "Watch". Thank you. This drawing did take a long time with lots of breaks and "I am done" moments.

Thanks. I put a lot of planing, time and effort into it. Personally, I was amazed I was able to pull it off as well as I did.

Spectacular! How big is the original? The shading and details of the skin are pretty epic. It also reminds me of miniscule creatures, like .. whats the word, mites? That eats your skin and are super small but look super huge and nasty when you look at them under microscope? At least the mouth reminds me of them. Cool stuff!

I double checked the drawing and need to correct myself. The drawing is 9x10 1/2.

Sorry for that late reply, been busy. The drawing was done on 8x11.5 paper, after cropping, like 7.5x10... I think. I used a hydrothermal worm as the model for this drawing. The worm is so tiny that you have to use a electron microscope to see it in detail. Thank you for the comment.

Definitely a very unique look at Cthulhu. The more squid-like shape gives it it's own personality and really does pull it away from being 'Just another Cthulhu' picture. The black and white coloring really helps to set the mood, but I would actually like to see this in color, if onyl very pale and dull ones to help preserve the stark feel.

Color would be great, but I am not the man for the job. Pale and dull tones are the way to go. Since Cthulhu is bonded deep under the waves, I do feel that the lack of light for such a long time would affect him. Many people think of Cthulhu as an aquatic being, but he is not. He is a prisoner, forced to sleep and dream in a death like state. So with that in mind, I see a this massive monstrous creature robbed of substance and vigor, showing his age in darkness and shaking off the chains of time. Thanks for your comment, I enjoyed it.

And I enjoyed the reply! I do agree that even I forget that he is a prisoner, whether by his own making or by the Elder gods (whichever theory you subscribe to). The only argument I could have is that death-like is just a term Lovecraft used since 'suspended animation' wasn't a known term at the time of the writing. Even so, yeah, he wouldn't be looking his best regardless! XD And it seems, while on Earth at least, he still does answer to some laws of our physics and universe so he would likely not have much color after bigintillions of years under the sea.

ok, I'll give you the point on "suspended animation", but it doesn't sound as cool.

XD LoL You're right, it doesn't! Now it's such a generic and boring term!

Even if you wanted to, I don't think you could get your mouth open enough. Plus there would be that mind blowing insanity side effect.
Cthulhu, whats for dinner.

Very unique take on this character. Chaotic and alien, just the way it should be. It doesn't look like a re-skin that's already been done a hundred times, and I like that.
