It had been a few days since Matt had run away. There were bags under his eyes due to bad sleep; the sounds of the forest would spook him awake, as he was a light sleeper. He was cold a lot at night, and his rather new fluff helped him up. He started to grow more, and he even noticed small looking horns on his head. He looked much more awesome now. But he didn't think it was enough. He was going all out. He was going to be the best looking lavaling anyone had ever seen. He was on his way to go find his usual breakfast; some small berries and wheat growing around; when someone stopped him... again.
'Gosh, why won't anyone let me be and let me go get awesome???'
"Hey," a brown lavaling spoke up to grab Matt's attention. "are you the lavaling that's been causing so much trouble out here?"

"What? Trouble?" Matt was confused. "I don't even know you, what do you know about me, stranger?" Matt sounded agitated. He was getting stopped almost every day by someone new... it was very annoying. He would have taken it as being popular, but all they did was say something negative. He didn't like that. Sometimes it hurt him. He would ignore them; but it was hard to ignore what was almost literally in your face.
"There's been a lavaling that shares quite the back view resemblance to you; he's been hurting a Pgymylyte, and he's been scaring others a little. Are you that lavaling? I'm not mad, I just wanna know." He sat there and waited patiently for an answer.
Matt was thinking whether or not to even say anything to this guy. Who does he think he is? Saying all this... this... smart stuff!
"Maybe I am... okay. I am. Yes, the name's Matt. What about yours, stranger?" He still held that guarded tone.

"It's Alika. Glad to meet you here at last. I want you to come back to the Lampery."

Well, that's a start.

"What? Why? Why should I go back? There's tons of other lavalings trying to compete for Tom's friendship and... he wouldn't pick me as his best friend... he hasn't even... came back to find me or something... He went to go find Edd that one time, but he didn't do the same for me. I don't think they'd want me back. I'm not smart like you, Alika..." Matt started to look down, the bags under his eyes holding back tears for like the 6th time in the few days he's been gone.

"What? What's all this about? No way, I assure you it's the opposite! You didn't even give this fellow, 'Tom' a chance. You just ran off. Ana's just been making you look bad while you've been gone. She's died it down after a while but... still. Why don't you come back with me to the Lampery, what'dya say?" Alika tried to sound as heartfelt as possible to get Matt to come with him.

"I..." Matt cut himself off and started to think about it. He wanted to go home; he really did. But he didn't know if he... was WANTED to come back. He wasn't the brightest. He thought long and hard.
"Ahh, what the heck. Okay." Matt slowly and wobbly got back up and started to wearily walk over to join Alika on the walk back to the Lampery.

Ahh! Finally done!!!

Yes, Matt is now officially back at the Lampery with everyone else! He might be a little antisocial and weak/weary at first;; he did go to the forest by himself! He's also reluctant until he knows he's 'safe' to be back home.
