Funny enough, Day of the Tentacle suggests that Dave, Bernard, and either Razor or Syd (I'm leaning towards Razor since she was planned as a playable character for DotT) were the "canon" rescue party in Maniac Mansion. Making this picture fitting as a showing of what "really" happened. Then again, maybe you already knew that?

I've played DOTT more times than I can count, but I've never actually played Maniac Mansion. Β It just looked a little too primitive. Β I love Bernard, though. Β He's a hoot.

DOTT is fabulous, that's true. But give "Maniac Mansion" a shot. Wasn't there the possibility to play the old game in DOTT (use the computer in Ed's room or something?). It's quite exciting for a game that's so old and a bit gruesome. I liked that quite a lot.

Yeah, I've got DOTT running on Dosbox (I have an original CD) so I could go in there and try it sometime

You can also download "Maniac Mansion Deluxe" for free. It's an improved version of the original game, with better music, graphics and sound effects. I just finished it and it's quite well done.

I never played the game, but I enjoyed Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, and Curse of Monkey Island. Those were among my favorite LucasArts graphic adventures. I heard Monkey Island's latest installment is called Tales of Monkey Island. Good work on Maniac Mansion.

You're welcome. How did you acquire Tales of Monkey Island? Which web site did you find it on? I once found a game box of Monkey Island games that featured the original hint books from the first two Monkey Island games.
