Fate(Kent Nelson) was able to sense what the gods had not,
the curse corrupting her body and mind.
He was able to expel it from her, back into the ring from whence it came.

With the curse removed, her power was greatly diminished,
but her mind was free of the corruption as well.

Her true nature was revealed.
She was not a goddess, but a fallen angel.

In her reality, she was defeated and fell to earth.

As she fell, her grace scattered(divine power) and she gained a physical form.

Having no kowledge of the physical world or how to recover her lost grace,
she stumbled aimlessly.

She quickly discovered that just like she fought evil beings in another
realm of existence, the physical world had evil beings in it as well.

She found the ring after battling a demonic entity.
With her grace lost she could not sense the curse within it,
only that its power came from her realm, it had a divine origin.

Hoping that with it she could begin to recover her lost grace, she put it on,
and descended down her dark path...

Now free of the curse, she has much to atone for.
While the heroes of the world don't blame her for the actions she took
under the curses influence, she does.

Wondering how she can return to her own universe, she went to the area in space
she had emerged from, an area Dr Fate called "the Abyss".

Within it, the laws of physics where in chaos.
An area with rifts leading to different realities,
long since closed but scars remain.

Having no way to identify which "scar" she emerged from, she saw no way back home.
As she despaired, she sensed an entity within the abyss, a black glimmering mass.

Despite its seemingly dark nature, she sensed no malice from it, quite the contrary.
While it is lacking sentience, beyond its instincts there is a strong desire to help,
to enhance and protect its wielder.

She sensed that, like her, it is a stranger in this reality.
It too wishes to return home.

Together, perhaps they'll find a way.

The symbiote connects to her body and mind, shapeshifting into whatever she focuses on.
Taking the appearance of a suit and holding its form requires no focus,
the parts that are actively shapeshifting has the original, dark glimmering look.

the wings are generally always out, in a state of constant shapeshifting.
Ready to take flight, use them to slash at enemies or shield against attacks.

The additional shapeshifting limbs are only brought forth when things get more serious.

The suit can withstand the natural forces of the universe, heat, cold
and lightning has no effect on it.
Being bound to Scarlene it has her divine magic coarsing through it,
giving it a fair resistance to magic aswell.

Being in the modern day Scarlene has now created a gun that can harness her energy.
Before she would form projectiles of lightning or ice to launch at the enemy with her hand,
with the gun the process is much faster!
