More Spidey redesigns. This time the focus is on the kid behind the mask. Wanted him to be the nerd that had a dorky charm to him instead of Hollywood "nerd" (which is either unrealistically socially awkward, or generic leading man in non-designer clothes and glasses). I know Pete's eyesight improved as a result of the spider bite, but I just always imagine Peter Parker wearing glasses. It just makes sense to me.SPLENDOR ENTERTAINMENT: A MOMENT OF GREATNESS

Five or six are my favourite, though four seems to look a lot like Tobey Maguire.
I agree about the nerd thing, I always find that massively insulting that Hollywood mistreats us nerds like that. Its what I like about Pete, he's usually a fairly realistic nerd, even if he has bipolar tendencies.
The glasses thing makes sense. Funny, the eyesight improving thing wasn't actually stated until around the time of the first film if memory serves me. In the original stories it was more like he ocasionally chose not to wear them, either because in real life most glasses wearers take them off when they're not needed, or because Steve Ditko and subsequent artists kept forgetting to draw them, until eventually he stopped wearing them all together.

I imagined him needing reading glasses because of the amount of reading/computer/tech work he was doing in the poorly lit basement and his mask has prescription eyepieces (that would be interesting). And Spidey having bad eyesight would make his spider sense even more useful.
