And the other reason I drew them like that, it's cause I"m a bit obsessed with Conker (the classic/nice) the Squirrel,and I've been listening to Donkey Kong Country music.

Well, in addition to them translating well into both your own style, as well as into chipmunks/squirrels overall. I think the way you draw them makes them much more expressive than the way RARE or Nintendo ever portrayed them, which I think adds more depth to their characters.
