Request a cartoon scorecard here:Β spongeguy11.deviantart.com/artβ¦Originally, Alex Hirsch wanted to make three seasons for the show with Not What He Seems as the season 2 finale and A Tale of Two Stans as the season 3 premiere. Due to how exhausting it was to work on the show though, he initially decided to end the show with Gideon Rises and leave it at a cliffhanger. However, a friend of his named Jon Stewart convinced him to make a second season. As a compromise, he decided to make season 2 the last season with the ideas for seasons 2 and 3 being merged into one season.
Awesome way to give the characters and the story an expansion (especially the mid season twist) and also has a very great finale to cap it all off (though I wouldn't mind more episodes).
