Description (I decided to do what i did for I Remember you, because there's no use hisng what the best episode of the season is. But loike like last time, that doesn't mean it's the only amazing episode. Not saying if it is or not, it's just a general rule here)

And that's the much divisive Season 5, and the end of the Season DVDS we have so far, meaning i'll at least watch the daily eps quicker niow that i can jump to a site. This is where some people started to think the show went downhil, and what do i think?

Well, after hearing the arguments and watching this season again, i do kind of get it. Although, i personally see it as hit or miss. I'll address this more with season 6 but in general, i think it's fine to be a bit more dramatic and less fun, the issue is that sometimes it tries a bit too hard and they do a few too many experiments as we'll see later.

But hey, this Season is more hit than miss and the best ones show exactly what they can do if they try.  Most of the more divisive eps are just experiments that try hard on. It's fine to make mistakes when at least trying something interesting, which is why something like Frost and Fire has more merit than something like Jake Suit, regardless of how you feel.

I mostly liek what they do here, with some of the arcs. But i will agree some drag on too long or just could have been better. I like the Frost and Frie trilogy fine, but afterwards Finn felt a bit off in some episodes, like Red Throne. I mean i get it, but just get over it already. I at least see what they are doing though, so i can let it slide a bit.

So yeah, despite having the only two eps i dislike so far (and the flat out worst), there's enough good here for me to mostly like this Season, warts and all. Now for the debatable eps....of which there were many.

BMO Lost: I think I've explained this before, but it's a House Fancy ep as the only problem is Jake popping Bubble, but it's so mean nd out of character for him and Finn, that I'm not sure if i can let that scene slide, since the very last scene was pretty hilarious. Eh.

Red Starved: Pretty mild, as there's a pretty valid reason for Marceline acting out, but i wasn't' too sure if the excuse held water, as it's kind of off for her to go insane after just being a bit hungry. I think if the story was really interesting i could let it slide, but it's only mildly interesting.

James: I really like the concept of the story, and James surprisingly isn't too annoying, but it ends up being forced, as they just force his heroic sacrifice, as  well as force moral ambiguity by having PB clone him. All the possible issues were intentional, but they literally force this to happen, when it would be a perfect story if played straight. Maybe it's a deconstruction, but there was no need for it. Also ,the opening pretty much spoils the plot.

Apple Wedding: Once again it comes down to character behavior. I see her issue with King of Ooo but maybe she goes too far with being a bitch here and i don't see why Tree Trunks even goes for him to begin with. On the other hand, she learns her lesson so...eh.

Bad Timing: I liek the main story of LSP finding love, but the gimmick is pointless, and i love the concept of the tragic ending, but again it's a bit forced. I think just a simple story of LSP finding love would have been perfect, and the time travel stuff could have been saved for later. Again, not too sure.

Finn THe Human/Jake the Dog: That's right, the big premise is mixed. My issues are in the 2nd half but it affects the first part so i put it to both. For one, the tone is slightly off./ Just when i really get into the drama, it cuts to Jake and Prismo doing random crap. Those bits aren't funny enough to not be jarring. (This was done better in Puhoy, since it wasn't too heavy and the bits were short). Then there's the ending, where Jake just wishes everything back to normal ,and the whole thing was pointless. I know that a wish was the only way to fix it, but the exception kind of made the whole thing kind of pointless, especially with all the build up from the Season 4 finale. With that ep, this is a 3 parter, so it felt like a letdown. But it's debatable, since I'm not sure if I'm just being nitpicky, as the story itself is really good otherwise.

Well, there you go. Now onto Season 6....which the ratings will only get harder.

Not sure if the show itself went downhill, but Princess Bubblegum did.  Also, the three parter did set up stuff that would happen later, so it's still pretty good.

they did stretch her morally grey traits a bit more,  but it mostly works.

well, it's at least interesting when it's not derailing the plot like in apple wedding and of course wizards only fools
