This is the new (and final) version of the Rising Stars of Manga UK cover image. I tried a different method of colouring from the last one, that I've been developing for a while. It basically involves colouring traditionally, but on different pieces of paper from the linework, scanning them all in serperately, and fitting them together. That way I can colour with the accuracy and versatility that photoshop allows, and also retain the feeling of hand drawings. I've also redone the lineart for this version. I've ironed out some of the problems that people brought up, so thanks for pointing them out
I'd love to hear critiques for this as always, but try not to be *too* harsh because It's too late to change anything now XD XD

^_^ Cool! The story is very short (only 18 pages). It's about a man in a coma reliving moments of his life in a dream-state. I think if I said any more than that it'd make reading it less enjoyable.

it gives it a warmth that isnt found in hospitals, but is still uninviting, like a dentist office or something. its that generic pink (not an insult lol) that is used on those paper gowns and stuff

WAIT A MINUTE! They are letting you do the cover?! I am... so fackin' happy for you!! Jeez, I really need to get on the ball with mine and send it off to RadioComix, or whoever else will publish... I just don't have the appropriate format paper, and it wasn't done on the appropriate kind of paper for publishing (again, being poor sucks), so that has been what is holding me back... I don't want to be told I have to re-do it on different paper. XD Oh well, I ask Radio if they have any qualms about that.

Does it matter what type of paper you do it on as long as the scans look good? I've never come across that problem at all.
I'm doing the major image for the cover, but not actually designing the cover itself. That will be my image, plus thumbnails of all the other winner's images arranged around it as far as I know

oooh, I love it. especially the colouring, which is wonderfully subtle. The red tones are kinda... almost graphic. And rather dark and disturbing, though I'd expect no less from you, m'dear. (; dark and disturbing but subtle and a wee bit spooky - this reflects in so much you do. It's the whole decay, silenthill thingy going on, which you know I love. In a way. Know what I mean, right? (:
Uhm, the only wee crit I have (and I haven't read through all the other crits so forgive me if I'm repeating myself) is her ear looks a bit off to me - the angle and shape of it. Not sure why. You'd be able to see more of the back of her ear, where it attaches to the head, right? And it would kinda be a different shape? Not sure, something I picked out. If it's way too late, it's so not a big deal - just something that leapt out at me....
and can I just say? my god, I love his hair. The way you've drawn and coloured it is frankly spectacular... ooooh. nice nice hair...

OH! and btw, I'm totally in london this week! in the gatwick area, but trains are entirely possible. And I'm with my shockingly wonderful american boy (he's in the shower right now... mmm.....XD ) - so yeah! you very busy at uni mate, or feel up to being randomly hassled?
