I got inspired by some designs posted by an artist I really like, Keroreud: keroreud.tumblr.com/I really feel like my designs can be bland sometimes, so I want to try to make the things I draw more visually interesting (especially when it's not fanart). I always struggle between making things more "realistic" and more stylized. it's hard for me to decide sometimes.

And I know what you mean. Finding a perfect balance of "realistic" and stylized is very hard to find. And when you think you have succeeded, you take a second look and judge your work too harshly. But what I found is sometimes have a bit more confidence in your work, and you'll find that perfect blend.
