Description testing new lighting techniques in vray. took awhile to render on my labtop but hopfully i will get a new desktop soon that will handle it better. i also used a DOF plugin for photoshop called lenscare, seems to have worked out pretty well, way better than dof in vray because it is so fast, and i can keep experimenting with different settings without having to keep re-rendering, which at 1hr 30min a pop would take awhile. comments and tips on improvements welcome.

nice render , but in this color tone I dont get the material of the cabinet , is it metal or polished wood ?

i think its metal, or maybe even plastic, referance from an ikea cataloge...i could not really tell myself. anyway thanks for lookin and the inspiration.

sweet lighting! it appears quite authentic, awesome work. as for critique, the drawers seem a little flat (but maybe that's just the design) and the shadowing behind it is a bit too much. other than that, this piece rocks. i too am surprised to hear you're not using c4d!

thanks for your critique just what i was looking for. yes the drawers are some sort of reflective plastic, reference out of an ikea cataloge, although maybe i could push and pull some of them so they are not so uniform. i agree about the shadow maybe some more fill is needed. thanks again!

not a problem, i'll definitely be watching out for the final piece, it's already got class and style.

thanks man lol. I am sorry i have totaly defected. I still like the user friendlyness of c4d, and would probably still use it to model but i think it is easier just to keep modeling ad rendering to a single app. after interning at SOM this summer i have also realized that autocad is pretty much the stadard in MODELING, yes...this was a rediculous idea to me at first as well, but after modeling all summer in autocad i have realized how good it actually is, then render in max. anyhow thanks for the comment, are you still comming to calpoly?
