Description They say, "don't shoot into the sun." But HDR photography says, "screw that, shoot into the sun, I love it!"

When I shot the bridges from a higher perspective in the Merchandise Mart, I made a point to shoot them closer up. So as the sun was setting in downtown Chicago with some fantastic clouds, I walked over to shoot some of these fantastic bridges in Chicago.

These great towers flank the LaSalle Street bridge on each corner. Here on the south side of the bridge, they make a great pair with the red curving metal forming the bridge. The stonework on the bridge stands strong.

In the background is the Merchandise Mart, when it opened in 1930, it was the largest building in the world with 4 million square feet. More importantly in this photo, the vertical lines of the Mart contrast with the horizontal lines in the bricks of the bridge tower.

I really like how the the setting sun illuminates the windows in the tower. The whole photo jumps alive.

This is by far one of my favourites of yours. I'd like to buy a print when I have the money.
