I paused it here to find something interesting, ninjas next to Karai? I heard that the whole "war on the city" was between Karai and Shredder. Karai is bringing up a new Foot Clan and redemning the honor of the original Foot Clan. Also, that Shinigami is on Karai's side, not Shredder'sRelated content

Brandon Auman recently confirmed that she's both a witch AND a trickster (I do like tricksters BTW). So, while it seems likely that Karai may have recruited her, she could be either one of three things: a spy Karai is placing inside the Foot, a double agent, or she has an agenda of her own.
Brandon also said that she's one of his favorite characters going forward but remember, this is the same guy (I know he's head writer & an executive producer) who said that "The Ever Burning Fire" is his favorite episode. Let's get real! That's not even a Top 10 episode! If it's still his favorite episode by the time this season is over, we're in trouble.

I figured that Shredder brought in Shinigami to magically control Karai since the brain worm thing has run its course.
