Spoilers for the end of the game!This is how I felt at the end of my second playthrough. At the start of Act 3 Aveline was so mopey about me not helping her find love that I felt bad and tried to be a better friend, but I'd only gotten her bit above neutral by the time the end game triggered. I was SO SURE she was going to abandon me, and I would have deserved it too. But she didn't, yay ^_^

Hawke (a female mage with short dark hair and a happy expression): Zomg! Aveline! You stayed!
Aveline (dubiously): I was hardly going to abandon you, Hawke.
Hawke: But I was always ignoring you! And breaking the law! And I never got around to disproving those charges against you! And I ruined your one chance at happiness...
Aveline: You know, on second thought...

I know! This exactly how I felt I was like ignoring all of her companion quests and never really paying attention to her at all but she still sided with me! Now THAT'S loyalty XD

I was pretty surprised she stayed too, despite the fact that I did get her married to her twue wuv and generally she was further toward friend than rival, but I still did a LOT of shit she disapproved of. XD

She's pretty long suffering, in a sometimes grumpy sort of way
