Thank you very much. ^^ I'm still working on improving this costume XD I'm redoing the bow, and will work some more on the stockings and arm guards.

Thank you very much ^^
Same here, Ashe is my favorite champion and I just love the Sherwood Forest skin. I really like the green color and her bow looks so cool!

I was wondering how you made the shoulder pads? The costume looks really nice~

Sorry for my late reply.
I made the shoulderpads out of craftfoam, carboard and paper mache.
I first drafted my pattern on paper and then copied it to the cardboard. I then bent the cardboard to it would fit nicely around my arm/shoulder. I taped the cardboard in place with painters tape (that crΓͺpe tape, or whatever it's called). I covered the whole thing in a few layers of paper machΓ© for sturdiness.
After the paper machΓ© part was done I didn't bother making it look smoother because it already looked good. I then covered my shoulder pad with the same fabric as the costume.
You don't see it on this picture but it's a very beautiful fabric with a very subtle shine.
The gold is made out of craft foam.
I heated the foam up with a hair drier and shaped it to the pad. For the symbols I used my hotglue gun to create the 3D shapes. You might want to find an alternative for this because it's very annoying work XD.
Foam sucks up like a sponge so I first covered my foam with some layers of cheap yellow acrylics. After the yellow was done and the foam took the coats nicely I painted on the gold in an even layer. I later on used some brown acrylics and a piece of tissue to create the 'used armor look'. You basically paint the darker color in the corners and next to both sides of the glue lines. You then rub off a little with the tissue. This will create more depth and will make it look less fake.
After the painting was done I glued the foam to the pad, added some invisible treads and a D-ring to secure it to my body and that's about it.
Please tell me if you'd like to know more.

I wish you had a full body shot, because I was curious as to how you did the boots & cape..

I wish I had a fullbody shot too. Sadly The photographer only put up the pictures of me sitting and the ones with my boobs overly visible and not the one where I'm standing and doing poses/aiming my bow and styff.
Anyways, I should still have some process pictures, If you're interested I could send them in a note. If you're wondering how the symbols on the cape look like I can take a picture for you ^^

That would be great, actually! If you have spare time, I mean. I'd love to see all the shots as inspiration/reference!

I'm just wondering... How did you make the bow?

sqinny In reply to ListofApologies [2012-12-28 11:23:39 +0000 UTC]
I needed to do some seaching to find the English word for it xD.
I used EPS (expanded polystyrene) for the base. I cut and shaped this exactly the way I wanted it to be and then covered it with a couple of layers of paper machè, because it was not strong enough I poked some wooden sticks through the weak points. I coved the thing in 8-9 layers of Gesso ( some sort of liquid latex) and painted it with acrylics. I used a sealer on it all and tied the string. The bow is not bendable so I had to use a stretchable string.
If you're planning to make a prop just like this I would highly suggest to use a thin layer of wood (if you want to I could look up the english names for the types of wood I would suggest) and glue the polystyrene to it. This will give it a bit more stability so you don't have to be overly carefull.
If you have any more questions feel free to ask them. I also have a ton of progress pictures in case anything is unclear.

Thank you, It's still a work in progress tho XD
Me neither, I looked around for quite a while, did see some Queen Ashes and her White version. On top of that, I really like the color green, I might even like it more then her original XD

It's nice too see different version of the champions, instead of the classic ones. I should not talk because I've cosplayed Ahri xD

Uhu, I really like to see other then default skin cosplays. But still, there's nothing wrong with cosplaying the original.
There where some LOL players who did not recognize me because they're so used to a black and gold Ashe XD and because Sherwood doesn't have a frostbow but a wooden bow.
