Description Assignment:
The straw that broke the camel's back
focus element - color; split complementary limited palette
focus principle - emphasis

My split complementary scheme includes yellow, red violet and blue violet.

The first thing I thought about upon reading this assignment was the time in the middle of my junior year in high school when I chose to drop my Theory and Practice art class. I had been toking Visual Design 2 and T&P at the same time. While there were other things, I mainly dropped it because I can't see as well as I'd like to, and trying to constantly visually concentrate on so many things at one time was causing me physical pain in my eyes and it was too much work to keep up with my eyes doing that.

That's why the glasses are falling off my face and shattering against the frame. This is one of my favorite self portraits, and it turned out a lot better than I thought it would.

I used tempera paint (never again. but I know I'll do it later anyway just to see if I can do a better job) and an old pair of glasses. The surface is from an old lap desk that had broken long ago and for some reason had a frame around it.

XD I didn't step on them. They're just an old pair that I had lying around. The prescription on them is old.
I had to take a hammer to them and bang them up a little.

Painting with tempera? I wanted to murder myself.

Thanks. I love using yellow and purple together. (Even though it's really yellow, red violet and blue violet. Whatever.)

Haha! Yeah, yellow and purple is probably my favorite pair of complementary colors to use, too

Yes. I never liked using red and green at all.
I'm not sure about blue and orange. They're okay, but I can't remember the last time I used them.
