Description “Golden Wind Overdrive”

-Colorful, charming and cunning heroes of noble heritage (Joestar family for Joseph and both Almyra’s royal bloodline and Leicester’s leading duke) but still remain easy-going and down-to-earth, who have notoriously strong-willed mother (Lisa Lisa and Tiana von Riegan) and who possess unique abilities due to their bloodlines (Joseph being a natural-born Ripple and eventually Stand user, and Claude having the Crest of Riegan, which allows him to bear Failnaught and have unique combat techniques).

-Both had to leave their parents and live with one of their grandparents (Joseph being raised by his grandmother Erina, after his mother Elizabeth had to go into hiding after avenging his father, and Claude joining his grandfather’s side for the future of the Leicester alliance)due to complicated family histories (the Joestar’s pasts with Dio Brando, which led to the downfall of both Joseph’s grandfather and father, and the imminent succession to the place of leader of the Leicester alliance due to Duke Riegan’s illness), which caused them to have a tumultuous past (Joseph becoming a troublemaker at school, frequently causing fights, and Claude being a victim of racism due to his Almyran heritage). Their shady family business concerned a murder by another noble who wanted the highest place they could have for themselves (Joseph’s grandfather Jonathan was murdered by his step-brother Dio Brando, who wanted his foster father’s fortune, and later want to create a world to his image, and the original heir to the Riegan family, who was Godfrey von Riegan, Claude’s uncle, died in what was apparently an accident, but was most likely a planned at least partly by Count Gloucester, from the rival family to the Riegan house).

-Both, while traveling to foreign countries, fight racism (Claude wanting Fodlan to be more open and mix itself more with its neighbours to diminish racism in Fodlan and in its surrounding countries, and Joseph defending Smokey Brown and fighting Nazis in Mexico)

-Both of them travel in order to help someone close to them (Joseph travelling to Mexico in order to find his father figure Speedwagon, and Claude going to Fodlan to help his grandfather and appease his worries on the future of the alliance)

-Both meet their combat teachers while in their travels, but their meetings play out in completely opposite ways (Joseph meets Lisa Lisa in Venice, and she immediately antagonizes him. Claude meets Byleth in Remire Village, in the Adrestian Empire, and Byleth helps him, alongside Edelgard and Dimitri, fend off bandits who were pursuing them). Their teachers would accompany them beyond their combat training, however.

-Both frequently fight monsters during their adventures, that were used by the main antagonists of their stories (Joseph has been throwing hands with vampires, led by Kars, and Claude fought different kind of monsters, that were sent to battle either by the Empire or by Those Who Slither in the Dark). These antagonists’ groups use ancient artefacts to enslave the people they turn into monsters (the Stone Mask and the Crest Stones)

-Both have shown their opposition to authority, albeit in different ways (Joseph openly antagonizes policemen, while Claude firmly believes the Church of Seiros hide the truth to society)

-Both are, in battle, very tactical and calculating, but while they don’t hide how deceptive they can be in their fighting styles, they will not use any tactic they deem too cruel.

-Both would be discovering the legacies their « heroic » ancestors have left behind (the quotation marks are here due to the heroes of Foldan’s history not actually being heroes, Nemesis and the Ten Elites, who have passed down their crests and weapons were actually the villains)

-Both would end up fighting ancestral villains, some of them being part of their bloodlines’ history, involved in body experiments done to gain power (Old Joseph would, alongside his grandson Jotaro, fight the vampire DIO, who stole Jonathan Joestar’s body. Claude would fight the resurrected Nemesis, who was responsible for the death of Sothis and the Nabateans and provided the Agarthans their bones and hearts to create weapons, one of them would be given to Riegan, who was resurrected alongside Nemesis and the other elites).

-Both use many different weapons (Joseph has his Ripple, Stand and Firearms, and Claude uses bows and swords), with a fighting style with mainly ranged combat to apply their strategy, and close-quarter combat if need be.
