thanks. i'm thinking i'm gonna go back to that abandoned lot and see how stuff's changed. all the graffiti was painted over, and new graffiti put over the white wash. should be interesting.

hmm. i think that would require having a tripod that i never moved. sadly, i don't think there would be anyway to set that up so that no one'd steal it.
i guess i'll just have to move into an apartment w/ a good graphiti view and set it up. hmm. not sure where i'd find that...

problem2: there isn't a lot of graffiti in Seattle to begin with. and the places that do have graffiti, i'm pretty sure i wouldn't want to live there.
*sigh* i guess i'll just have to scrap that brilliant idea. tragic.
i passed the lot today though, and there's all new graffiti. i think i'm gonna go take some more picts.

hmmm. that is a possibility. my brother lives in NY, too bad he's not a photgrapher. must be tons of great shots out there. stupid non-photographer.
that's a distinct possibility, seeing as how my apartment building's practicaly accross the street from a "juvinile detention facitlity". i prefer to refter to it as the kiddie jail. ;D

meh. i like Seattle though. plus, my brother's apartment is a small, dingy little apartment in the industrial district. probly good for photos, but not very pleasant. plus, they haven't cleaned the kitchen in so long, their sink has probly developed an inteligent life form by now. attack of the sink mold.

thanks. i find that i'm addicted to high contrast stuff in general. all my work kinda tends to turn out that way.

don't people normally bring graffiti to toilets? in this case they brought the toilet to the graffiti...
interesting. and great colours too.

thanks. i was just really amused by that abandned chunk of toilette sitting in the middle of this abandoned lot. it just seemed so lonely.

lonely probably because no one goes there.
nice capture, not everyone notices things like that.

well, it was jsut sitting there, out in the middle of the lot, by itself. i had to take a picture. i really like that lot though. i'll have to go back there, since all the graffiti's been whited out and replaced by new stuff. it'd be intersting to see what people replaced it with.

graffiti artists these days aren't very original...but definitely better than the average "toilet artists" anyway!

yeah, i know what you mean. especially in seattle. i was walking around the city, trying to photograph graffiti, and there just wasn't anything good.
there is one guy though, who really amuses me. he does the graffiti of the cartoon kid, you know the one with the really giant head, googly eyes, and little skinny body? i see his work all over town. from ballard to capitol hill. i've even seen him published in a couple places. anywas, he's probly the last of the interesting graffiti artists in Seattle.

haha, the cartoon you described sounds like something I'd draw!
lovely, I'll go and become a legendary graffiti artist now...that's if I don't end up in jail for it.

well it wouldn't be very hard to become a famous grafiti artist in Seattle. there's nothing here. i think the key is getting a clearly identifiable signature style, and the putting stuff all over town, so everyone recognises your work.
when you get famous, i want a kick back for that advice. it's money, dude. but getting arested would be bad. ruins your cred as a serious artist - or maybe it gives you more cred? but it's all about the stelthy. "stelthy," man, yeah.

I think, in the case of urban graffiti art, a stint in prison actually increases your cred - but the accomodation is shoddy though, the last time I heard.

oh, no you're interesting. it's just that the air conditioning in this office is on Way to high, and it's absolutely freezing in here. i've been resisting the urge to just sit here with my hands down my pants - or up my shirt - all day, and you just reminded me of my nice warm bed, where the chill doesn't make my hands turn blue. but trajically (it's really, truely trajic) i can't do my job with my hands down my pants, so i am made to suffer. *woeful sigh*

that's a good point. i know i'm just not that hardcore. i like by bed, with the nice soft flanel sheets. mmm. beed. *drool* crap, i have to get some work done now!
