This is Redd Jankowski, a delta operative from Libertyville, Fillynois. He was born to Rihannon Jankowski and Carson Locke via an affair Rihannon had while her husband was overseas. Due to Rihannon's avid drug use and alcoholism, Redd was born only six months into the term and secondhand addicted to Cocaine and alcohol. He was kept in the hospital for many months before becoming well enough to go home with him mother. Shortly before Redd's birth, Rihannon's husband, Robert, died overseas and their son, Spencer, was taken from Rihannon by Robert's mother who saw everything Rihannon did was a mistake and wanted nothing to do with Redd.

For the first five years of his life, Redd lived in a very unstable home. Rihannon grappled constantly with child services both trying to get Spencer back and keep young Redd. She also struggled in finding Redd's biological father who had flown the coop when he found out that Rihannon was pregnant. The mare was also always between jobs and her foal was never promised a meal. Eventually, however, in spite of Rihannon's efforts, Redd was taken from her at the age of six and was given to Robert's mother. Spencer was happy to finally have his little half-brother with him, but his family could not say the same. They neglected Redd, often leaving the colt to fend for himself while Spencer was catered to and pushed to succeed. The treatment got worse when Redd began to do poorly in school and misbehave in any act to get attention, good or bad.

Redd may have felt alone in the world, but he really wasn't. Spencer had always loved his bother and had even been the one to name him when he was born. He tried his best to get Redd through school and comfort him when times got considerably bad. As they grew up together, Spencer pushed Redd to follow him into the military knowing that Redd COULD find success in it as well as fight for a worthy cause. Reluctantly, Redd agreed and, when Redd turned 18, they both enlisted.

While Spencer advanced quickly with his quick wits and determination, Redd's career moved slowly, only being put into dead-end areas with little to no future. When Spencer was accepted into the F.E.A.R. unit, the young Redd's frustrations doubled. But then, finally, at the age of 22, Redd was accepted into the Delta Squad 'Dark Signal' as a Sargent and his true potential began to emerge. He was GREAT with the military and finally thought he had found his calling.
