Description
This shot was taken in Israel, at Masada, a mountain fortress held by Jewish rebels around 200 AD (history is NOT my thing). The Romans seeing that they couldnt scale the mountain to start knocking down the walls of the fortress, made Jewish slaves erect a ramp up the side of the mountain (the ramp is still there). The Rebel archers seeing they would hit their countrymen and brothers stopped shooting arrows and the ramp was made. The Romans knocked down the wall and stormed the fortress only to find that the rebels had decided to take their own lives themselves, rather then be tortured, raped, and killed.

The story was very moving to me and it was on my mind when i saw the sun rise out of a arrow slit. It seemed to be saying that even though its dark now there will always be a sunrise at the end of the night. I grabbed my camera and snapped.
