Description Cover done in the 90's for DC and Malibu's crossover of the Deep Space Nine and Next Generation comics.

Sorry for the bad scans. I had to scan in the actual comic and it didn't come out that great.

Colored pencils and airbrush.

I loved Malibu's Deep Space Nine run. I've sold off a lot of my comics over the years as my tastes changed, but I've kept all of those issues. This miniseries was cool at the time because it was still rare for that kind of crossover between shows (unlike today, where it seems any pretext is approved that allows for characters from different series to mingle). Anyway, that rant aside, I always liked this cover. I think what really stood out to me was that your choice of characters was really rather daring. No Picard, no Sisko, no Worf. In fact, of the six here the character most often shown "in action" is Riker...who exists here as a floating head, rather than a dynamic figure shot! I suspect this kind of cover might have made some editors and publishers wary. I tip my hat to you for daring to create it, and to Malibu for printing it.

Thank you!

It was a long time ago...but I believe it was the editors at DC and Malibu that wanted me to do the "other" characters since the first cover of the series was the two captains.

Either that, or I gave them a bunch of ideas...and this was the one they chose.

I'd love to take credit for being daring...but I'm sure full credit goes to the editors in this case.

Thank you, though.

Well, regardless of who gets credit for the idea, you're the one who did the heavy liftin' and completely nailed it. I sketched a Deep Space Nine collage a while back and stole the image of Kira from your work on this cover. (It was, of course, inferior to yours.)
