this was so much fun to do. i just randomly stared doodling and suddenly realized i could do a picture showing forta's finally named species! i call them the Sentōki, which means fighter in japenese (at least i hope it does. google translate tends to screw up )

WARNING SPOILER ALERT

Sentōki:
A species living on a long forgotten planet. they were a normally very peaceful society, experts in farming, fishing, and building. each Sentōki is born with the inate ability to wield a certain tool with unnatural skill, and their abilities determined where they worked. Axe wielders built houses and retrieved lumber, spears and weighted nets for fishing, hoes and rakes for tilling the farms, scythes for harvesting, hammers for forging, knives for cooking, and so on. but each tool had a duel purpose, and could be used as a weapon. working all day made the Sentōki the perfect warriors, although they only fought when threatened, for they believed that unnesasary bloodshed would attract the attention of the banished ones. they alone know the secret of forging dark-cutter steel, a metal that is passes right through armor, flesh, and earth, but cuts the greatly feared dark matter from their hosts. nobody knows how or when the Sentōki disappeared, but on the day that nightmare conquered his first planet, no stars could be seen in a small corner of the known galaxy...

traditions:
the Sentōki were the last beings in the universe to remember the sibling gods zero and zero2, referring to them as 'the banished ones.'
when a child becomes five years old, they are brought into the forges. here, they make their weapon. depending on what the weapon is, dark-cutter steel is mixed into the metal of the weapon. heavy, blunt weapons such as hammers, weighted nets, hoes, shovels, etc, tend to be plain metal as they are used more for beating then cutting into enemies. scythes, axes, knives, etc, are sometimes either pure dark-cutter steel, but far more often a blend of dark-cutter and normal steel. weapons such as these are far more powerful for the sentoki wielding them, as they can slice either flesh or dark matter at will, although the ability to slice through rock and armor has been forfeighted.

abilities:
when war threatens, the Sentōki's eyes glow red, and even the youngest child is capable of killing a fully armed man. when in this "battle rage," they gain unnatural speed and strength, as well as animal instincts and traits, aiding their sight and smell. on some of the sentoki, claws will sprout during the battle rage. while no one is even sure what chemically causes the battle rage (and test subjects tend to kill the docters from sudden anger bursts) it is theorized that an extreme adreneline rush causes the savgery and strength, while excess blood being sent to the head causes the red eyes and increased senses. some of the more powerful sentokis can carefully force themselves into a mild battle rage without completely losing control, but as adownside, when in a full battle rage, they go pretty much completely out of control.

whew that took a long time if i end up not using some of these guys in A Recurring Nightmare, ill put them up for adoption.

Some facts about the word sentōki: (because I happen to know a bit o Japanese, as my signature states)

Sentōki can be written also as sentouki, and it is pronounced with two "o"s. It can also be written as sentohki.
Both "ō" and "oh" work as pronouncation instructions for westerners who are unfamiliar with Japanese pronouncing.
Sentouki is a compound made of "sen", meaning war, and "touki", meaning a fighting spirit.

On another note, I love these little sentōki here :> How come I missed this information package about them before?

I just realized this, but the word you're useing doesn't mean Fighter. In Japanese fighter is Senshi(literaly meaning one who fights) . Though there are two other words like it though that are used commanly to describe fighters.
Bushi; Meaning, Knight, Soilder, Cavalier, Palace Guard, or Samurai.
Musha; meaning War Person, Military Person, or Martial Person.

Sentōki means fighter plane. Like a jet....

...crap.
ah well, sentoki sounds better than senshi, bushi, or mushi and fighter plane actually still works, as they are fast and unforgiving in battle.
thanks for letting me know

i still like the name sentoki though. has a nice ring to it. if you would like to list the other names/words, go ahead! just might give me inspiration only if you want to of course...

WhiteOutArts In reply to ssbbforeva [2012-10-21 23:32:35 +0000 UTC]

I actually found somthing interesting. The last half of Sentoki by itself means Fighting Spirit

Toki - pronunciation; touki/toukon. Meaning "The will to fight."

If you split the word with a hyphen(Ex. Sen-Toki) Sen meaning people or name, and Toki meaning fighting spirit.

It's up to you, but I thought that was cool^^

Well, regarding puffballs...

Canon imply that puffballs do *not* get the Copy Ability by default. In fact, in the games, Kirby's Copy Ability is a failed version of the possession ability that is exclusive to Dark Matters (as in, Kirby technically attempt a possession each time he swallow a foe but automatically digest the body and keep only the power. A Dark Matter can choose to possess or ditch the body and keep only the power). Of course, 'failed' by Dark Matter standarts, hence why they abandonned him on Pop Star.

In the anime, he's likely to be just as unique ; the age theory make no sense on scrutiny due to the fact that Meta Knight and Kirby are technically most probably the same age, the difference being that Meta Knight spent the last centuries awake, Kirby spent them in stasis. Akin to the games, it is implied that Kirby is an experiment by the bad guys (Meta Knight is one in the anime and the implications is that Kirby is one at least).

In short, in both cases, Kirby's power come from the fact that he is an experiment by the bad guys, not from his puffball nature.

(note: Meta Knight does not have wings. What many fans mistake for wings are his cape's transformation ability, linked to his armor. As the mechanical wings are a game-only point (his cape is mundane in the anime), he never fly in the anime (since he has no wings).)

Random points but hope they're interesting.

wow really? i never really looked into it since i was getting really annoyed with loads of other people screaming out their theories and intsantly saying everyone else is completely wrong and insulting them along the way. ive seen waaaaay to many of those guys

i figured that he really doesnt have wings, or at least not ones naturally attached to his body, but i think that in the games, its just the magic in his cape, and since i will be using his wings in my comic (keep in mind this is just a guess i might end up changing it later) his demonic nature lets him turn the cape into wings, not the cape having that power.

Zerodius In reply to ssbbforeva [2012-09-29 18:10:31 +0000 UTC]

It is true that it can get annoying. I know I'm pretty defensive/aggressive myself so I hope I'm not too annoying in all of your pics. Usually, despite how weird my theories get, I try to base my theories in canon via facts and hints in the material. The craziest I tend to go is elaboration/extrapolation. I tend to frown on the principle of coming up with fanon out of nowhere only because it's cool (unless it's to retcon really stupid elements but even then, it has to be really major cases, like those that are deeply stupiud like Metroid Other M or contradict themselves obviously, like Pokémon and the 'every species lay eggs' thing).

Regarding anime Meta Knight, if his latent powers are starting to awaken, it would make sense. Make sure to explain it and to have Meta Knight go through the necessary character development ; anime Meta Knight is really, really messed-up and need quite a bit of development (the fact that he hide behind Kirby and let him do most of the heavylifting despite anime Kirby having his growth stunted because of the stasis sleep is basically proof enough in my opinion).

Interesting, although you might have prefered to PM me this instead of posting it as a comment.

Now an interesting point I want to point out: Meta Knight does not remove his mask, ever, because he doesn't want people to see that he is a creation of the bad guys.

... the irony? He most likely is like his game self underneath: identical to Kirby except blue with white eyes. As in, he even got the fingerless limbs and ability to inhale, with the only difference being that he (probably) cannot copy things.

In short? That the demonic appearance that Meta Knight is so afraid of revealing? It is the form of Kirby.

... which by extension, would probably reveal Kirby's own nature (*this* would be a good reason for Meta Knight not to reveal his secret but Meta Knight is expresely afraid that people will judge *him*, not Kirby, although they would have no reason to associate Meta Knight's real face with that of a monster).

my theory for the puffball species is that they are all born with the copy ability, and as they grow older, they eventually settle on one ability permanently. most seem to prefer sword ability, which explains the large amount of knights. i dunno really its just my guess
