I think the models would look better against a dark background, which forces the viewer (me) to focus on the subject (your model of the Snake Lady). A bright and colorful background, as used here, is distracting- not a good thing when an artist (you) wants the viewer to focus on the artist's own work, instead of others' work (whoever drew the background image of Asagi and her sister).
