(Cyberpunk Edgerunners vs Borderlands)

Theme:
Technology based heroes who go around killing others to get paid
Helpful Connections:
Their family helped a group of mercenaries but soon they died (David’s Mother Gloria Martinez helped the Edgerunners but was soon killed by a hit-and-run car crash, and Zane's brothers Baron Flynt and Captain Flynt both helped bandits but were killed by other Vault Hunters)
They would join a group of mercenaries who all have their own special gimmick but soon some of the main members of the group started to be killed (Pilar got his head blown up, Dorio was shot, Maine blew himself up, Rebecca got squashed, and sadly David got a bullet to the head, Maya was killed by Troy, and Lilith sacrificed herself to stop the moon from hitting Pandora)
Both wield tech that helps them distract and to get an edge on their opponents (the Sandevastan and Digi Clones)
They would soon get even more upgrades (David getting the Exoskeleton and Zane getting the Shoulder Cannon)
Very Minor Connections:
Cool and similar jackets
Animation Potential:
Probably 3D
Could have them use most of their abilities like slowing time with the effect and having Zane teleport from his Digi-clone
Also, could have a gunfight, who doesn’t like gun fights?
Banter:
Zane carriers this but David himself can help to add comedic aspects with the banter
