They both have the ability to breathe out a form of energy as their signature attack (Godzilla's Atomic Breath shoots radiation from his mouth and Gamera's Fire Breath is made of plasma) with enough destructive power to threaten mankind, but instead chose to defend them against other Kaijus and occasionally defend humanity.
