I can totally imagine late at night while he and kathy are supposed to be like cleaning up and getting ready to close but Chase just gets stuck completely zoning out thinking about Molly and then whever Kathy scolds him for it he gets really defensive and embarassed

HOHOHO Chase might resist ... at first. Then he'll have to accept it 'cause his only other option is Maya and I don't like their chemistry at all TBH.
Heck, I'd let half of them get married to their rivals but I can't bring myself to like Gil/Luna because they're too similar ( and I like the idea of a happy Molly and grumpy Gil ; w ; ) in personality or Chase/Maya because Chase/Molly seems more like a realistic adult relationship than Chase/Maya.

Oh my god you and me have like the same thoughts on this
I know a lot of people who dislike the Maya/Chase ship hate it becuase they hate Maya and love Chase or whatever but honestly, Maya's not a bad gal, I just think she's reaaally bad for Chase. Like she's childish which could potentially work if she wasnt also so one-dimensional, where as Chase is actually a very complex character for a hm game. Also, there's no way Chase would settle for a girl who's as terrible a cook as Maya. Plus in all their rival events, its basically like Chase getting pissed at her and her crying. Then in the proposal event, he's like getting all pissed at her for proposing and then he's like sike im happy i was just gonna ask you first. Like what? I could go on for days XD
I'm ok with Gill and Luna, but the thing is that Gill and Molly are so much better and have a way more complex and interesting relationship than him and Luna. I had heard a headcanon going around on tumblr that Gill had sorta had feelings for Molly ever since he met her in the watery cave. It makes sense too because Gill is so passionate about the island and is really concerned with saving it, so meeting someone with the same goal and passion as him always makes for good chemistry right off the bat. Plus a lot of their interactions as you increase his affection are just so sweet.
ALSO I dont just draw, I'm dabbling in writing as well and I have a Molly/Chase fic that I'm working on right now. I havent posted any of it yet but I have quite a bit of it written. So some of these headcanons just might make it into the story some time

I know right?! I don't dislike Maya because she's a funny, silly girl.
With Chase though, I have no idea where the creators got the idea for the pairing.
I didn't go for Maya in a male file on ToT so I don't know how she acted first-hand but I did read her script/dialogue from ToT sometime last week or so (I got bored xD). I was a bit disappointed by how ... flat her character was compared to Chase.
TBH, if Chase/Maya was a couple in real life, I would see them getting divorced in the end because I just don't think they'd get along. Chase getting mad a lot and Maya getting upset because she keeps getting yelled at. I just don't see it ending well. x'D (but I can see her with one of the male protags. their original names are slipping my mind at the moment though.)
oh golly, I keep spelling Gill's name wrong. I forget it's two Ls and not just one. xD
Ohhhhh, I've never heard of that headcanon before! I seriously like that idea. Gill falling for Molly in the cave is just too cute to ignore. ; x ;
I'll probably save two files to have one for Chase and one for Gill. If anything, that headcanon convinced me to do that. I remember doing the Gil and Chase file idea on my previous playthrough but I don't remember Gill's dialogue very well. (It'll be something I can look forward to.

Yeah I totally agree with you on Molly and Chase. If they ever did manage to get along well enough to get together realistically it wouldnt last long
And dude I was never even considering Gill until I heard that headcanon now I'm planning on making a separate file for him too.
And yeah there's nothing up yet and there might not be for a while (im swamped with school right now) but I do plan to start posting in the near future

I can definitely see Chase and Maya being on some relationship post on how not to act with your spouse, where-as Molly and Chase would be how you are supposed to act with them. x'D

Yeah their relationship is too one-sided to work out. I can easily see Maya being head over heels for Chase, but Chase wouldn't wanna touch her with a ten foot pole

ALSO I JUST THOUGHT OF SOMETHING
So I was thinking and i was like man, who would actually date Maya? Because I cant realistically see her working well with anyone in Castanet, but i dont think she's undatable. And then when I was thinking about who she would date from other games, it totally hit me. She would be PERFECT with Fritz from the new hm: story of seasons. They're both bubbly and energetic, somewhat childish and generally pretty caring people. They both have the best intentions but tend to mess things up pretty often. Also Maya loves to eat, and Fritz loves to cook (and is really good at it) but he's not so serious about it like Chase where he would be upset that Maya isnt good at it. He also has the patience to deal with her. Generally they're perfect together.
If you havent heard of the new game, you should definitely check it out! its not as good as animal parade, but still pretty great!

While I can't afford the game yet, I do remember reading up on the personalities for SoS and a crossover would be so much better than the Chase/Maya pairing. Someone more lighthearted/less serious would be a much better match for Maya. oh, but is it just me or are the HM dudes generally more ... happy (in their overall personalities) in the handheld games than AP? x'DD maybe it's just me?

Theres some pretty moody men in the handheld games (vaughn from island of happiness). I feel like there are others but im forgetting. Every game ususally has one moody bachelor. And of course, Chase is my favorite c:
And the writers had probably finished pairing up al the rivals and then the only bachelors and bachelorettes left were maya and chase and they were probably like hmm... they're polar opposites... they have nothing in common.... welp, it'll have to do. And tbh I cant really even see Chase being with anyone other than the female MC. He's too complex and interesting for any of the other characters in my opinion. Or maybe I'm just biased because he's my favorite XD
