The photo that saw me as a finalist here in a local photo competition.I named it "Laid Back" as I found it best described one of the main things that Bunbury is known for, it's great laid back, relaxing lifestyle

Had the pleasure of attending the Bunbury / Setagaya sister cities photographic comp night last night and got to meet some very interesting people including a japanese doctor who had been over in Japan helping with the disaster that happened not that long ago, it was very deep and saddening to hear of what has been going on there, and still goes on there to this day. I was able to check out a lot of very cool images as well, both from here and Japan. There was two categories for the comp, one being the "Student" category and the other, the "Open" category. Third and second place went to one photographer, we all thought he had taken out all three prizes/places, but I was very taken back when they announced first place, to which my name was mentioned!

yea definatetly glad u did. I have a few people telling me to enter a competition for 'photos of brisbane' and i think i may now. this is an amazing image and even more amazing it wasnt done with a DSLR right?

Im selling my 24-105 F4 L IS at present, will only have my 50mm 1.8II for the DSLR after that, I reckon it'll help improve a few things shooting without a zoom only
