My entry for contest! The theme this time was "My Hero" and had to feature Peach and Mario. I had quite a few ideas from different games, like Super Mario Bros. 2 and Super Princess Peach. However, I finally decided to go with Super Mario World, namely when Mario defeats Bowser and is standing with Peach (Toadstool) and fireworks are going off behind them. How romantic! They even have blushes on their cheeks! XDI did the digital inking and coloring in two days! Yay, I'm getting faster! It was the drawing itself that it took a while for me to get inspired for. But once I got going, I really enjoyed myself, especially with the lighting effects! =3
Hanabi means fireworks in Japanese. Enjoy!

SMW was such a fun game! My favorite parts of the ending were the kiss, and going back to Yoshi's Island with all the Yoshi eggs hopping along behind them! =3 But I liked being "introduced" to all the enemies, too!

did you go through star road to get to Bowser's castle? or did you take the long way?

I always go the long way while still visiting Star Road, and then before I get to Bowser's Castle, I do the Special World. THEN I beat Bowser, usually while going through the Back Door! XD You?

That must be so hard, going through Star Road without the Red Switch Palace! I've never tried, but I admire people who do it! =3
I usually go through the Back Door, which bypasses the doors, and you come in in that dark room with Ninjis and Mechakoopas. I'm thinking I would go through 2 or 4, but that could just be me remembering Yoshi's Island! XD

oh yeah i usually get all the switch palaces! its just WAY easier on me. well one of the stars on star road, if you beat it correctly, puts you right beside bowsers's castle. in my opinion its better than battling through those 3 or 4 more levels and lenny's (lemmy? can't remember for some reason) castle. theres also a secret area beside the second ghost house (on the donut plains i think?) that has like 3 question mark blocks. i like going there a lot.
yeah i could never remember where that one was, so i always did the 1st and 8th doors...lol

Me, too! Yoshi's Island is my favorite 2D action game! =3 And I love that secret area by the Donut Ghost House!

i love that level on Yoshi's Island...its umm...Touch Fuzzy, Get Dizzy! i just love wobbling around everywhere! hahaha! and ummm fighting the Raven on the moon! and trying to fight the gigantic blob before he pushes you off the cliff! lots of cool things on Yoshi's Island for sure.

Thank you very much! It is a fairly dark picture, especially the Mario part of it, so don't worry, it's not your eyesight (I have bad vision, too). The lighting was sort of experimental, so I'll keep working on my technique!
