It's been a hot summer in the Netherlands, and the stable staff decided to take some horses out to the nearest open water for some refreshment. Emily decided to take Heart along with the couple of other horses that were picked to come with, as to further her training of socializing and desensitizing. After the group of 8 reached the nearest lake, handler and horse tried to cool of in the cold water. Stijn, Moud and Irma had brought some of the stable horses that were known not to fear the water easily, and this started to tread the lake. Emily tried the same, hoping to be successful to coax the draught filly along. To her surprise, Heart was quick to follow. She stopped at the waters edge to inspect, but stepped right in after almost no hesitation. Emily let the lead rope hang loose, willing to follow the filly in her careful adventure. After some much needed drinks, Heart spooked as one of the other horses started to splash about and roll in the water. She watched for a full minute, before suddenly starting to rake her legs through the water, copying the behavior. Emily was more then shocked ad the usually nervous foal's glee, and shrieked with laughter as Heart splashed them both with water.
That day The stables discovered that the near feral and spooky filly, was a complete nut when it came to water. Emily had never seen her so happy before! <3
