Lieutenant T'Von has repaired a crack on the speeder bike's intake manifold with her phaser and now Aura carefully checks over the entire bike. The two Starfleet officers have gone back to the cantina to confer with their admiral and hopefully they'll get permission to provide help to the settlement. The help Aura hopes for the most is in spare parts.

The settlement's technical infrastructure is failing. It was created from parts of the crashed transport ship the survivors arrived in and it has been a miracle that these things have lasted the eight years they have been here on their new 'homeworld'. Because of Aura's skill and imagination, this settlement has much of the technology they need to survive. Aura was a skilled and talented mechanic working for the rebels against the Galactic Empire. Her abilities have been instrumental in the success of this settlement and the survival of her fellow castaways.

Aura and others built the moisture harvesters that provide the water for the settlement. She had designed them from memory and utilised parts from the wreck to construct them as well as the hydroponic gardens that feed the community, the solar panels that recharge some of the energy cells that illuminate the entire site. They power many of the simple technology that the survivors have. The speeder bikes, the settlers' only mode of transport, are Aura's pride and joy.

The droids are another matter. Several droids were on board the transport and after the crash, they needed repair. Aura and some of the other survivors were able to repair them and they have been a great help maintaining the place. But like everything else, the droids need spare parts and maintenance.

But for now, Aura revves up her favourite speeder bike. It purrs almost as smoothly as it did after she first built it. A slight smile of approval crosses her face....

"That's my girl!" Aura whispers to the speeder bike.

Aura looks up from her bike to see Lt. Kina Deir standing there smiling....

"The Admiral said yes!" Kina says excitedly. "She's contacting the ship as we speak, asking for the things Brianne Satori has asked for. Lt. T'Von is also submitting the list of spare parts you gave her along with their specifications..."

A broad smile erupts on Aura's beautiful face as her joy overflows out of her...

"Thank you lieutenant!" Aura says happily. "That will help us more than you can imagine! Let me know if there's anything I can do for you! "

Kina now smiles widely, excitement shines on her youthful face....

"Teach me how to ride one of these speeder bikes!!"
