This is a wonderful capture of the quietness of that magical morning light. Very well executed. Another fine shot from Stammy's Sammy :
If it were mine I would have cropped the right hand side of the image right up to where the dominate umbrella begins. This, to me, would eliminate the "dead space" to its right and get the viewers attention to keep focused on the elements that play so wonderfully off the figure. A crop would also serve to get the figure out of the stagnant center. And it would create a nice tension and movement between the looped rope and the tree branches. But I know how fuddy duddy you purest's are regarding changing anything from what you originally saw...or didn't.
Its a minor thing though...the shot is truly a fine one as is

Thanks a lot for your feedback Rich! I understand what you wite very well. I wouldn't mind cropping, but I would love to keep the 3:2 ratio of the frame, which wouldn't let me keep the front table, and not go square.

Then the way you have it is the only way if wanting to keep a 3:2. I wouldn't want to lose anything in my suggested crop. Everything left is vital.

Well that's their "business"...promoting one genre. Like all groups. I have never joined any group ever...probably because I can't handle rejection

I love how the lines in the image lead to the man. And I love the still and pensive feeling the image conveys.

Neat and flawless composition.

I see...that the problem is not your image but the Yard's judging criteria.

Creative way to express it, though

Let's not fight over it. Different groups, different people, different visions, different sensitivities. In the world there is space for everybody, and what the Yard doesn't accept, will be accepted by another group and the opposite can very well happen.

Simple as that.
