They aren't what I would consider beautiful, especially since they roll in their own shit and are one of the many animals that can spread disease to man.

So very true. Personally I like mythical creatures better. Dragons, kelpies, basallisks,unicorns, phoenixes, etc. They leave your artistic mind open to various possible forms of beauty, but I still like wolves. One of my favorite real animals. ^^

wolves are ugly, over-used and boring.
and when people draw wolves, they usually make them look like some sort of spitz dogs.
