tbh i've seen way too many people complain about smoky's design saying "they're ugly!" or "they're too fat!"
honestly, what the fuck were you people expecting? a fusion looking like opal/garnet/sardonyx/rainbow quartz? both steven and amethyst have stubby builds, of course their fusion is gonna be fat, jfc
and as for the 3 arms, i can understand how it throws some people off, honestly i don't mind it as much but i think the 3 arms is supposed to represent how amethyst and steven are the "worst gems".
and for the weapon... i've seen people bitch about that as well. again, what the fuck were you expecting? a whip + shield would clearly make a yo-yo, good god (though i guess it could've been nunchuks, but who cares?)
and plus, you people were complaining about how badly you wanted steven to fuse with a gem be grateful
"but wahhhh i dont want some fat kid with a yoyo wahhhhh" oh my god get over it
and its hilarious how the fandom will endlessly harass someone for drawing a character thinner than depicted on the show but then complain about a character 'being too fat' fandom logic :/

well their're not Supposed to be the most Beautiful and perfect fusion
it's like complain about that Malachite , cluster and the corrupted fusion (of jasper and the corrupted gem) are too creepy or freaky, their're Supposed to be creepy, just like smoky is not Supposed to be perfect

I personally LOVE Smokey's design. She looks so cute! 
The one thing I don't really like about her design (and this is kind of being nit picky.) is the three arms. Like, I don't mind that she has three, but the fact that two of her arms are connected just looks really weird and creepy to me. 
But otherwise I love her.

The point is is that there are "creepier" or "anatomically weird" fusions in the show LIKE Malachite or Alexandrite and yet Smoky Quartz gets the most shit for being "too abnormal"

Smoky's actually kinda a fun character
and really when Steven and Pearl fuse into Rainbow Quartz (who in the flashback is one of my least fav fusions due to her really just being used for a rather cynical reason) it's not going to be that fusion we saw in the past, it's going to be much different, and very likely going to be maybe a lil less bulkier than smoky

i get it at the first time you see Smokey you're like "What am i looking at" but pretty much after you see jasper get rekt by a yoyo, she's pretty much the most flawless idea of a Amethyst/Steven fusion.
