Attack on Titan has been my life for the last few days and I've finished all the episodes and I'm upset because none of the questions that were presented were answered (I still haven't really watched all the OVA epsiodes so maybe there are answers) but I finished the main story and I need answers. This is so cool! Do u think that tracing your favorite anime characters(without stealing) is an effective way to learn how to draw manga?

Personally, I've learned that tracing doesn't really help. To me it just encourages being dependant on a line to guide you instead of learning the feel of shapes and where you should put a line yourself. Of course everyone's different, so just because I think it creates artistic dependence, it could be argued that it lets people explore details instead of worrying about over all structure. But if you are doing it purely to learn how to draw the style , I would advise against it. It's okay to start off tracing a few for reference, but I would try to do it yourself because learning a style is more personal than just tracing, and drawing without tracing teaches you more than just following a guide :3Β
