My last submission for #suviappreciationweek , which ends today :3 Thank you to everyone who took a part in it and made it fun
We'll be closing the party later over at LabyrinthofStars , which is my collab account with Silencelabyrinth :3 This is my OC Safiyah in her native fairy form. Remember how the earth fairies in season 4 had a transformation that wasn't really magic winx or anything else? I decided to do something like that for Safiyah. It's supposed to be a kind of unspecific native homeworld form. Also because it's fun to work with transformations that are completely unrelated to everything else

Thank you so much for this Suvi, and thank you for being sweet, supportive and for sharing your creativity with us :3 Your work is always so inspiring I finished the design by adding in the head piece and shoes. I don't think it was meant to be a fairy outfit originally. But I made some wings for it, which I'm quite proud of how turned out, and smacked them on :3 I think it works :3
I used a darker skin tone on Safiyah this time and played up some of her African features. I think she'll stay like this. This is what I want for her, but I always find those features difficult to draw and scared I won't get them right. I think I'm going to try harder on this.
Safiyah lives in a tribe in the desert on her home planet. I tried to play up the tribal look here with the face paint. I hope it worked :3

oh my god this is just...breathtaking. I love Saf with a darker skin tone. I think she looks absolutely stunning, and it really makes the face paint and the colours in her outfit pop.
I think that the way that her hair is sort of pulled back in individual sections is beautiful! It really fits with that awesome headpiece and the whole tribal aesthetic.
I can't really stop looking at this, and I don't think that I want to. All the detail in her face paint, her wings, her dress (awesome job, Suvi!), her hair. It's really perfect, Jas, and I mean it.
I would love to learn more about Safiyah's tribe. It seems like it would have some cool history!

I stole the idea from the 'native' form that the Earth fairies had in season 4. But because Safiyah is from a completely different planet, her form probably looks different, so I gave myself lots of creative space x)
Thank you <3 I've been struggling with Safiyah's skin tone ever since I created her. I'm having second thoughts about this. It looks nice here because she's got a lot of light-color contrast, but otherwise I think I may have made it a little too dark on this picture. The main problem is, that I mostly work with markers, and I'm still looking for something that would be a good skin tone for her.The ones I have are mostly either too red or too yellow for her and I'm constantly trying to translate whatever marker i'm using at the moment to digital, which doesn't always work. So it's an ongoing project, finding a colour that suits just right.

I don't know if her tribe has that much history. I think they have a lot of stories and strong traditions, but they mostly keep to themselves and carry on, from generation to generation.

I really love this idea so I might just do it for one of my OCs. It seems like a cool opportunity to just...do whatever you feel like with a design without having to conform to any particular "guidelines" for a transformation.
Hmm, maybe I should make it my mission to just....Create a brand new marker shade for you to use for Saf's skin tone? I'm not even sure how i'd do that, but I want to now!

DOOOO IIIIIT! Exactly! you can just focus on the fairy, her nature and her native surroundings and do whatever. It was so much fun to work on. When I saw this design I knew I immediately needed it for Saf's native form

Just in love with every single part of this breathtaking art! ♥ Words cannot express my actual feeling! God, it's brilliantly magnificent. Safiyah looks inimitable in this completely unrelated transformation. The outfit is as special in every way as her magical wings.

How pretty! Love the colors and details. I absolutely love it when people do transformations and characters based on different cultures. I have a transformation based on Native American culture, with my main character who's world and culture is based on Native American as well. It's really neat.

Me too, I like the different cultural influence. It's so inspiring, isn't it? :3 I wouldn't say she's supposed to be African though, she lives on a whole different planet, even though her culture is heavily influenced by African tribes. Still, I like that she's from a different planet, it means I have the freedom to do 'what I want' with it
