Description So, I made this little guy in September. He is one of a kind, created to be a travel buddy for my friend *DemonLordOnigawa since she's spending a year in Japan. I wanted to make her a unique present, something that could give her comfort and a smile.

I am so grateful ~AmusedBookworm helped because I had no idea what I was doing. I haven't sewn anything in my life. But thanks to her, the bear came together in time to leave with DLO on the first week of September.

Time spent: About 6 hours?
Pattern found here: [link]

Note: I'm not certain if DA has a policy saying "You can't claim a hand-made toy if you didn't make the pattern for it." I looked but didn't find anything. =\ If anyone knows, please let me know.

Yep, my first one. I had lots of help from AmusedBookworm though.

Star, you are full of surprises. I had no idea that you were learning to sew! And I must say, you did a terrific job on it!

6 hours? That is like 72 minutes per inch of the bears height.

Er, well, that time includes cutting out the fabric pattern (which AmusedBookwork did for me), figuring out how to stitch it together, and undoing the stitching I did wrong, then restitching it over. I take my time with new things to avoid mistakes and to fix the mistakes I do make....

You should make a Transformers plushie.

Just experiment.
I don't think it could turn out bad enough to make your efforts not worthwhile.
Plus if it works you will feel wonderful about it.

That or consult google and see if anyone has anything up about making (or at least images for references) Transformers plushies.

I've actually looked into that before... the thing is, I have only a faint understanding of how toys are sewn together. The fabric patterns look nothing like the final product sometimes, so to design that would be really difficult. Handmade Transformer plushies are highly sought after, so those who do make them do not make their patterns available (as far as I know).

It's an undertaking that I'd loooove to do, but it requires more time and effort than I have right now.

"And you know what they say.
Maybe is a baby that just needs to be loved, until it grows up and says YES."
