I was commissioned this past weekend by the one-and-only MLP-Silver-Quill to do some Title Card art for a very interesting animated video he has coming up. The preview can be seen here. www.youtube.com/watch?v=N29WXh…
I will link to the actual video, once it is posted this weekend.
Truthfully, the notice for this commission was rather short, as it needed to be done in time for St Patrick's Day, but I was happy to do it, as it really seems like a fun project.
I wanted to portray each of the Brony Reviewer characters displaying each of their unique flavors of cartoon craziness, which you can see fully realized in the actual video. XD
Hope you like. Now... back to my other collab.

one thing is why didn't the heroes in this video just use mirrors or reflective shields to make the cocatrice look at their own reflections so the cocatrice turn themselves into stone

SilverQuill, a horse-famous youtuber you may have heard of, has written and organized this project. I did the above thumbnail art.
The story is loosely based on the legend of St Patrick driving serpents out of Ireland.

Celestia should have called my stingray OC. Could have gone in blinded (and therefore immune to the stone stare) hunt the beasts down by their electrical impulses.
Or, better yet, let the mismatched abominations of nature have of taste of their own medicine at the petrifying paws of Crunch the Rockdog.

Of course, the critical factor there is making such a premise into a comedy.

Maybe play it like the Muzzle attack from Road Rovers. Let Crunch loose and focus on the analysts getting sick and commentating on the carnage.

I think it needs to be a comedy. Comedies can be quick and punchy in their execution, allowing for animated shorts like this to be feasible for a fan group to produce.
An adventure or drama story would require too much time and development to build up the more serious emotional payoffs that would make them worthwhile.
I'm not entirely sure what you mean by "curb-stomping". SilverQuill and Co are mostly comedy people, so this is right up their alley...
